We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Drew and Liz Lawrence and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea and Liz, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our business is designed to include the community, by way of holding space for local artists. entrepreneurs. and creators to share their work with others. The space serves as a hub and networking space for like minds to evolve. The Hause enterprise includes three store locations: The Hause Collective located at The Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs, The Hause Thrift & Lounge at The Chapel Hills Mall also in Colorado Springs, and The Hause Collective Charlotte at Carolina Place Mall in Charlotte, NC. Each store location is currently serving the region and the communities within. The heart of our business concept is Sustainability, where we aim to offer affordable vintage clothing, custom upcyled items, and selected thrifted treasures. Handmade art, accessories, home goods, and cosmetics are also available from local vendors. We are the most proud of working together to reduce textile waste on our planet, and impacting, by example, a better world for all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our creative efforts expand beyond personal fulfillment, not only have we created an opportunity for ourselves to make a living on our passion and purpose, but we have extended the opportunity for others to express themselves in the process. Our journey has been endless in pursuit of putting sustainability at the forefront of our art and creations. It has taken years of nurturing and consistency to build the network of creatives that embodies The Hause Collective. We have relied on each other to push us through the challenges of structuring our art in the world of retail, all in effort to share with our communities. Our vision of harm reduction for this planet paired with expression of the soul has helped bridge the gap between fashion and sustainability. Our business has enlightened the creative conscious of our community, by demonstrating the value of second hand and up-cycling, all while supporting local businesses.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Soul Hause @soulhause 1365 Pecan St : An extension of our community in the form of an event space. We host live music, community workshops, small business pop ups, and more, while offering the space to others in the community to host their own events.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shoutout the vendors residing in The Hause in Colorado Springs; without the collective effort of everyone involved, our impact and reach would not be possible.
