We had the good fortune of connecting with Consuelo Sierra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Consuelo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks is essential for growth. I’ve had to take risks that have cost me careers and relationships but have brought me so much knowledge, and deeper relationships with loved ones and myself. It has pushed me to have the courage to see so many beautiful places worldwide. Taking the risk to start a business has given me a deeper trust of that feeling in your heart that there is something for you that can bring you joy and that you look forward to doing every day. Risks can be scary, but exploring that fear and doing it anyway can lead you to the most incredible places inside yourself that reflect outwardly in your life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey into permanent makeup was a bit of a leap of faith! After traveling around Central America, I found myself searching for a new direction. I stumbled upon the art of permanent makeup and was immediately captivated. It’s a beautiful blend of creativity and precision that allows me to enhance people’s natural beauty.
What sets me apart is my passion for creating natural-looking results that complement each client’s unique features. I take pride in the personalized approach I offer, ensuring that every client feels confident and empowered.
It hasn’t always been easy. There were challenges to overcome, like building a clientele, mastering new techniques, and over coming self doubt. But with perseverance and a love for what I do, I’ve been able to overcome these obstacles. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never give up on your search for joy and fulfillment.
I want the world to know that permanent makeup is more than just cosmetics; it’s a form of self-expression. My goal is to help people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet incredible people every day and make a positive impact on their lives.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favourite places to take family or friends is Manitou Springs. It’s cute, quirky, and I love being in small towns that have a lot of character! Climb up the Manitou Incline and obviously while being down there check out Garden of the Gods! And then grab a cheeky bite at Santanas Vegan Grill. Next day drive over to Georgetown for a small hike around the area and see another cute little town. If it’s a nice warm day, rent a paddleboard and go to Soda Lakes, take them to Red Rocks afterward, for dinner get some sushi at Wellness Sushi. I love matcha so if Sustain and Able Coffee is at a location nearby I would 100% go to them and check out the farmers market they are in, else I would go to Milk Tea People and order their Uji Matcha. I love to go to Sloans Lake as well to read on the grass or have a picnic. Estes Park is a must as well! So I would take people there to walk around town and visit the Stanley Hotel!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom deserves a shout-out for having the courage to leave her family, her country, and her safe space for a better future for us. She sacrificed so much for the unknown of another country that had better opportunities. I appreciate and love her for that! Also a shout-out to my homegirls. Girlfriends are a blessing to have and has made life so much more beautiful!
