We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Randell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cory, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up with a veterinarian for a father, I’ve always had a love for animals. 11 years ago I landed a job as a sales rep for a veterinary distributor and found my niche. Over the years I have networked and connected with a wide array of people from all different aspects of the veterinary industry. One connection worked for a pet cremation company.

At the time, all I really knew was that when our family pets passed away, my dad would bring their ashes home in a tin can and they sat in a closet in the basement. After learning more about pet aftercare, I saw how important it is to provide a high valued service during the difficult time of losing a pet. I wanted to offer this service to as many animal hospitals that I could so I joined the company in 2017.

Over the years I would visit animal hospitals and educate them on the services my company was offering. With pet aftercare, pet parents can choose how they would like the cherish the memory of their beloved pet. This can include some jewelry and keepsakes. People had asked me if we sold any glass jewelry where the pet’s ashes are infused into it. Unfortunately, my company did not.

After some more travel I discovered one of our facilities in another state offered these types of glass bead keepsakes. They were made by a staff member. That’s when the idea came to me.

I’ve always appreciated art and love to be creative. I decided that I would take a glasswork class on how to make these type of glass memorial beads. After one class, covid lockdown happened. With all that time, I set up shop in my basement and spent 2 months teaching myself how to create this unique memorial jewelry.

That’s how Forever Pet Beads was started.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Losing a pet can be one of the most difficult experiences someone can go through. People grieve in many different ways. Memorial jewelry is one way to keep their memory close by.

Forever Pet Beads was created to help cherish a pet’s memory in a unique a beautiful way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I moved to the Olde Town Arvada area from the east coast a little over a year ago. It’s such a great town and here are some of my favorites: -First Watch for breakfast (the turkey sausage gravy and biscuits is SO GOOD)
-Bluegrass Coffee and Bourbon Bar for drinks and live music
-Scrumptious for delicious homemade ice cream!
-Ethan Gallery & Studio to check out local art
-Lloyd’s Tasty Sandwiches for some tasty sandwiches

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
