Meet Courtney Sherman | Owner of Wild West Photo Booth

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Sherman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea to start my own business stemmed from a unique and visually appealing concept: transforming a horse trailer into a mobile photo booth for events. I’ve always had a passion for being a part of events and saw an opportunity to combine my love for horses with a creative and charming approach.
The initial spark came when I envisioned the charm and novelty of a photo booth housed in a horse trailer. This was an idea cultivated during COVID. I had a vision for a unique photo booth horse trailer that could add a special touch to events.
Throughout my career, my day job has consisted of managing multi-family assets. Early in my career, I was able to quickly learn how to effectively lead a team, maintain and review financials, manage & operate multi-family assets, train & develop employees, marketing, sales, lead a database implementation & offer support, and manage a multi-state portfolio of properties. Currently, I am a SQL Developer where I create high level financial reports and Power BI Dashboards, as my day job. In my free time I like to hike, snowboard, camp, go to dog parks, and hang out with my family.
Launching this business was driven by a desire to bring something novel and charming to events. The flexibility of a mobile photo booth in a horse trailer offered a unique selling point, and I was excited about the potential to create memorable experiences for clients. Ultimately, my thought process involved blending creativity with practicality, and I’m thrilled to bring this cute and innovative idea to life.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets my venture apart is the unique photo booth concept and innovation that defines my photo booth business. I take pride in owning a transformed horse trailer that is now a photo booth.
The path to where I am today as a business owner has been both challenging and rewarding. Starting out, explaining my vision to others wasn’t easy. There were moments of skepticism along the way. But the excitement of offering a unique product and memorable experiences for others has kept me driven.
What I’m most proud of is witnessing the positive impact our photo booth has at events. Seeing people light up and receiving positive feedback has been truly gratifying. The brand stands for not just a business but for a commitment to uniqueness and joy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I would take them to do all things Colorado. I would start in Denver by taking them to the Union Station and a restaurant downtown. I would then start to head out west and stop at Red Rocks Amphitheater, Idaho Springs and Breckenridge. I would show them all of the must see spots in the area.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to extend a heartfelt shoutout to my partner, Dillon. When I first shared the concept with him, he may not have fully grasped the vision I had for the photo booth. However, as time unfolded, he quickly recognized the touch and profound impact our photo booth brings to events.
