We had the good fortune of connecting with Daina Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daina, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Nature does so much for us, and we do our best to return the favor to preserve the environment by limiting single-use plastics, following leave-no-trace principles and adhering to conservation practice standards. We also donate a portion of our proceeds to a national conservation non-profit that encourages black leadership in nature. Like many, we find joy in having a cleaner ecosystem.
What should our readers know about your business?
Adventurist Soap Co. isn’t your typical farmers market soap company. We niche to the outdoor community and outdoor adventure enthusiasts. We live courageously and adventurously and we hope to encourage others we touch to do the same. We started Adventurist about one week before COVID closures. Although it had its challenges, I think the pandemic made it obvious that small businesses needed support more than ever, through the awareness, we’ve had many seek to support us through it all. We are SO grateful to our community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am not much of a city girl (anymore!), My idea of a fun and relaxing time is getting away from the city and venturing off into the wilderness. I would take them through the Poudre Canyon and hike to the Seaman Reservoir and camp there for a week. We’d pack all of our essentials and food. Do some cliff jumping and just enjoy the peace and serenity of the nature around us.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout out to Outdoor Afro for being a combining force within the African American community and the outdoor recreation lifestyle.
