We had the good fortune of connecting with David Muelken and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When Denver became the first City in the US to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms in May of 2019 I knew I had something to add. I had been growing mushrooms for several years and was very familiar with the process. I launched Monster Mushroom Company in June 2019 and we were selling through stores by December that year. We have never looked back since then

What should our readers know about your business?
Business is often about persistence and perseverance when the odds seem stacked against you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always take friends to Red Rocks to see the natural beauty or catch a concert

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The owners and employees of Cultivate Colorado gave us our first start in this business and have provided valuable support throughout our history. The Psychedelic Club of Denver has given us community support and provided a means of reaching out to the good people of Denver
