We had the good fortune of connecting with Dead Dreamz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dead, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process was never born from light—it clawed its way out of shadows. I didn’t start a business to chase wealth or comfort; I started it because creation was the only way to silence the screams of stagnation. The world felt like a mausoleum of repetition, and I needed to carve my own tombstone into it—a mark that proved I existed. Each step was a risk, a descent into uncertainty, but I embraced it the way one embraces the cold of a crypt: knowing that fear sharpens the will. My business became less about survival and more about building a cathedral for my vision, a place where darkness could breathe, and others could feel it too.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is not crafted for comfort—it’s carved from the marrow of despair, stitched together from shadows and silence. What sets me apart is that I don’t shy away from the darkness; I embrace it, breathe it, and let it bleed through every creation. Where others paint beauty with bright strokes, I sculpt sorrow into monuments—monoliths of grief, melancholia, and mortality.

I am most proud of the honesty in my work. Each piece is a confession, a scar unveiled, a cathedral of pain turned into sound and vision. I never arrived here by an easy road—the path was jagged, lined with death of a loved one, rejection, doubt, and the suffocating weight of obscurity. But instead of fleeing from those trials, I fed on them. Every wound became fuel, every failure a stone in the mausoleum I continue to build.

The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that creation is survival. To speak truth through art, you must endure the silence of those who don’t understand it—and still continue. I want the world to know that Silhouette Death is not just a name, but a mirror of our deepest shadows. It’s a reminder that even in despair, there is resonance; even in sorrow, there is a song. My brand, my story, is proof that the darkness we fear can be transformed into something eternal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh where to begin… This might be a bit scattered since there are so many places I’ve been. Let’s go with my favorites. Places to visit we would start off with Bingham Hill Cemetery in Laporte just because there’s so much history there and unfortunately over half of it got washed away from the Big Thompson flood in the 70’s but still a beautiful place to visit and pay respects. The Baldpate Inn in Estes Park now known as the Seven Keys Lodge Amazing views and food if your just stopping through, Of course you can’t go to Estes without stopping at the world Famous Stanley Hotel featuring ghost tours, shows of all types, amazing views and of course what Stephen King’s The Shinning is based off of. Central City’s Masonic Cemetery which is in the historic mining town of Central City, another great graveyard with history and amazing views all around, plus mining tours, Denvers own Cheesman Park which was originally a grave turned City park in the late 1800’s not all the graves have been removed. These are just a few of my favorite places for a good drive and a bit of haunted history granted there are so many more. As far as food goes almost any food truck you could find driving around. granted some of my favorite places are of course Taco Star open 24 hours always hits the spot when your out late from a show and need something to eat, My favorite Burger spot has to be Jim’s Burger Haven featuring 4in and 6in smash burgers at a great price. Bar Red has great food as well as local shows that always gather a crowd. Venues for local and national acts that I have had the honor in playing in a few and hope to play in eventually are as follows. The Rickhouse, The Oriental, the newly remodeled and recently opened Federal Theater, HQ, The Gothic Theater, Summit Music Hall, Trailside Saloon which always hosts a great collection of local bands almost every week as well as killer drink specials. The Black Sky Brewery which caters to the Heavy Metal crowd and has killer food, The Wild Goose Saloon which always hosts all types of music as well as a killer menu of food items that is locally owned and operated by members of Lola Black. There is literally always something happening and there is never a dull moment if your looking for something to do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and for most my fiancé Adriana, without her I wouldn’t be striving to be a creative still and someone who supports me even if it annoys her most the time. My brother (Best Friend) Jason Neil of Mind Incision who plucked me out of a garage when I had no idea what the hell I was doing 24 years ago and taught me how to originally scream and growl. My label and business partners from Solunar Records, Everyone that I have ever collaborated and became friends with (Blood Of The Beloved, Death of Zenith, The Anti-Hero, Mind Incision, Seethe and Courtney from Seraphim Rising) upon countless others . The countless people I’ve learned from in being in this scene and industry for the past 28 years. Most of all the fans for sticking with me. As well as every band that I have ever had the honor of sharing the stage with.
