We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAnna Jones and Ally Crystal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeAnna Jones and Ally Crystal, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?

One of the most impactful books I have read is “The Surrender Experiment” by Michael singer. This book taught me that fear is just a thing, like a table or chair. It made me realize how much fear has held me back from enjoying what life has to offer. When Ally and I opened Hair Haven, we quickly realized that our only regret was not doing it sooner. This book made me more aware of my resistance to every opportunity that I face and it has been quite healing and transformative.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a particular interest in helping individuals fall in love with their naturally curly or wavy hair, I also love keeping up to date with ever-changing hair trends. Having the freedom to be creative in every aspect of my career is so rewarding! From the way I dress, to the work I put out. Work doesn’t feel like work. It is therapeutic to be able to take an idea I share with my client and make it a reality! As a business owner, learning when to say “no” is an ongoing process but it has helped me to protect my mental well being, providing balance and energy to be fully present with my business and myself (DeAnna)

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting I would take them to Lair Of the Bear in Red Rocks to hike, then eat at Willys Wings and then to Red Rocks to see a concert. Then the next Day We would go down to Garden of The Gods and when we were done exploring we would go to eat at Bambinos. I would also love to take them to the outlet Malls in Castle Rock and to Downtown Castlerock to explore and Relax. I would then have a spa Day at the Woodhouse Day spa, enjoying facials, massages and Pedicures, ending the night at La Loma or Los Dos with a beautiful view of the city. (Ally Crystal)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and all my amazing friends and guests. I am beyond thankful for my Family. They have stood by my side through thick and thin. They have encouraged me to be the absolute best version of myself. My Husband has spent countless hours and long nights helping me Brain storm, supporting me when I felt like I couldn’t go on, and most importantly making me laugh. My children have looked up to me and even helped put stickers on bags, organize products, filling the fridge and just snuggling me while I worked on setting everything up. I could go on and on about all the amazing people around me who have helped me. My dad went around to stores with me, testing out chairs, looking for decorations, It meant the absolute world to me. He would tell people all about me with the most pride pouring out while he talked. And to my business Partner Deanna Jones, I could never have found the courage to start my own business without you. The countless hours talking on the phone, and planning for anything and everything. Girl, you’re my type of people. (Ally Crystal)
