We had the good fortune of connecting with Delton Demarest and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delton, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a career in the arts because I always had a passion for hand on practices and exhibited this at a young age. I was always inspired by anything visual, in print, and otherwise as a child, I think that initially led me to pursue a creative career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an illustrator/muralist, but I do much more and I think that is what sets me apart from others. I have gained acclaim from winning and participating in Plein Air events {On site landscape painting} in addition to getting notoriety for the mural work that I do here in Denver, with the youth, and beyond. I think drive and motivation have played a large part in where I find myself today. I don’t think the pathway is ever easy when you decide to run your own business and wear all those hats. The world should know that I am a great creator to work and collaborate with on any illustration/Mural/Fine art projects, and I will always bring my best to the table whether it is a paid or charity project.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to take the guests around the area where my Studio is located, the River North (RiNo) area has a number of interesting locations with great dining, atmosphere and more. From there is a plethora of interesting places, and great spots where I have done work for that in addition are some of Denver’s award winning destinations, restaurants, and bars. I would also recommend mountain locales such as the Estes Park Tram, Georgetown Loop Railroad, and of course Red Rocks and any surrounding areas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
