We had the good fortune of connecting with Delvon Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delvon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Melanin In Me was created during the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic. With all of the riots and protests going on all around the world I knew that it was time to make a change. Melanin In Me is a brand that was made for the Afro-American race to understand how beautiful their skin is and how to accept and embrace beauty that’s within. In today’s world kids, teens and adults
scroll through social media wishing to look like and be somebody else. Instead of accepting how they’re fearfully and wonderfully made. Social media has become a toxic outlet for humankind, unfortunately it has played a big role in this generation’s mental health. Melanin In Me’s goal is to make men, women, boys and girls self-aware of how beautiful their skin is. In doing so my hopes are that it can aid in improving and/or being a part of their mental stability.If we do not love ourselves then how can we love anyone else?

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What I am most proud of is that my business, as a true to our purpose, and I conforming to today society. As a fairly new business, starting off was a journey himself however, I embrace the journey as you’re in my personal story to others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My group of friends are not into partying. They are more laid back so I would say we either go to a cigar lounge, pool hall, winery, axe throwing or top golf
