We had the good fortune of connecting with Leif Routman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leif, why did you pursue a creative career?
I don’t really think it was ever a conscious choice to pursue a creative career; rather my decision making process has been to put one foot in front of the other, keep my eyes open wide to any interesting pathway, and do the work to prepare myself for whatever intriguing opportunities come my way. Plus it’s way more fun than working for someone else!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have made music all my life, writing and recording from my bedroom in high school to professional studios around the country; collaborating with interesting artists in many mediums. It’s a strange path to walk and I’d only recommend it for those at peace with constant chaos & uncertainty.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Throw off your preconceived notions and come along for the ride. We’ll eat the finest snacks, listen to the finest sounds both natural & human curated, and walk amongst the high peaks. Perhaps a swim?
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Inland Isle – up and coming band I’m part of from Jackson, WY They are KILLIN!
