We had the good fortune of connecting with Demetrius “D” Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demetrius “D”, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It started with a purpose that I’ve had since I was 5 years old, which is to help people be the best we can be. As, an adult my journey began with recognizing a critical need in the business world for deeper self-awareness and trust in leadership. Over my years of experience, including my time as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Army and working with various organizations, I observed that the most successful teams operated in environments where trust was a cornerstone, and leaders were self-aware. This realization highlighted a gap in traditional leadership development programs, which often overlooks these fundamental aspects.
Combining over 30 years of leadership experience with the collective knowledge of industry experts who share a similar vision, Trust Leadership Collective was designed to offer a unique blend of insightful, pragmatical philosophies, behavioral and personality assessments, and engaging, entertaining workshops.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart is how engaging, entertaining, yet informative our workshops are. The ultimate vision for Trust Leadership Collective is to create lasting change by shaping leaders who can inspire and influence their teams and organizations positively. By focusing on self-awareness and trust, we aim to develop leaders who are not only equipped to face the challenges of today but are also prepared to innovate for the future.
Starting Trust Leadership Collective was also a commitment to excellence. It was about setting a standard in leadership development that prioritizes the well-being and growth of individuals and teams. This commitment extends beyond the theoretical aspects of leadership to practical, actionable strategies that leaders can implement immediately. When we say leaders, we’re not speaking about titles. We’re speaking about people who have made the choice to set-up and do what’s right. That can be anyone no matter the title.
Trust Leadership Collective is driven by a clear vision, a deep understanding of leadership necessities, and a commitment to enriching lives. Each step in this process reflects a deliberate, thoughtful approach to filling a vital need, supporting growth, and fostering environments where leaders and their teams can thrive. Our approach and methods go beyond the work space and seeps into the fabrics of who we are as people in our communities. We want to shape the future, while having fun & learning. Growth is the GOAL!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re going to have dinner at the Odyssey Italian Restaurant in Denver. We’re going to spend some time on Pearl Street in Boulder. We’re going to go on a nice trek on of the many different but wonderful trails we have in Jeffco. We have to go see a live band at the “Hoffbrau” the eclectic hangout/dance bar and/or go sing some karaoke at Park Center Lounge Karaoke Bar & Grill both located in Westminster.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Wow! Where do I start? There are so many that I owe thanks to. First, my beautiful wife, my wonderful sons, parents & in-laws. Inspirational leaders that were also supervisors like Jennifer Fairweather, & Natalie Smith, The person that believe in me over 20+ years ago that gave me the opportunity to engage this field, Dr. Ben Magee. The folks that I’ve had the privilege to work with as a supervisor and as peers that challenge me to show up and be better. My unofficial mentor Jim Young, and my friends that keep me humble as they keep it real. My brothers & sister that push me to be better. Other peer professionals like Nick Kittle, Stacey Lewis, Desaray Bibb, & Sonja Hall Mahoney to name a few. All the folks that I’ve had the honor of supervising! OK, this list could go on forever. I am blessed to have so many in my corner.
