We had the good fortune of connecting with Devan Worrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Devan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve always been a risk-taker whether it was on the football field, joining the Navy or starting new hobbies like music. I realized early on in life that taking risks and pushing boundaries is the only way I’ll get to where I want to be. I also understood that I might only get this opportunity while I’m still young and single, which makes it the time to do so.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I know my music is different from what’s out there because it’s purely me. It can be a good advantage because it’s original, but if the listener doesn’t know who I am or what my brand is about then it can be confusing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first stop I would make would be Oishii Ramen downtown. Best ramen spot in Denver hands down. After consuming a spicy Tonkotsu, and 2-3 Asahi’s, I would go up to Red Rocks for a rap or EDM concert. For recovery the next day, I would either spend my time at the Edgewater public market or go up to Buc-ee’s in Johnstown just to say that I did.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout all my friends who I met during my time in the Navy and my friends from high school that welcomed me when I returned home. A majority of the time, artists will think about their fans when times get tough so I’m thankful that my fanbase is full of homies! I also want to thank Zoran, Schae, Dan and the others I get to work with. I have a great team and it gives me faith we are going to accomplish big things.
