We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Meier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

My financial planning business is making a lasting positive impact on the world through several key avenues:

1. **Empowering Financial Literacy**: By providing expert financial advice and education, I am able to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions about their money. Financial literacy is a critical skill that contributes to economic stability and personal well-being.

2. **Promoting Inclusive Access**: My business ensures that financial planning services are accessible to a diverse range of clients. This inclusivity breaks down barriers and helps bridge the wealth gap, allowing people from all backgrounds to secure their financial futures.

3. **Ethical Investment Strategies**: As a financial manager, I guide clients toward ethical and sustainable investment choices. By prioritizing companies with positive social and environmental impact, I contribute to a more responsible and conscious global economy.

4. **Supporting Small Businesses**: At Salt Creek Wealth Management, I play a vital role in supporting small and local enterprises. By helping entrepreneurs manage their finances, I contribute to job creation, economic growth, and community development.

5. **Socially Responsible Retirement Planning**: I am a Behavioral Financial Consultant and I encourage clients to invest in socially responsible retirement funds ensuring that their financial security aligns with their values. These investments can positively impact causes such as renewable energy, healthcare, and education.

Finally, every financial decision that I guide my clients through has ripple effects. My passionate commitment to ethical practices and social impact creates a better world for everyone.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I began my financial management career in 1995, at a time when there were few women financial managers. I consider myself to be a trailblazer. In the mid-1990s, women in financial careers were still breaking barriers. My persistence and determination paved the way for other women to enter this field. As a woman, I encountered biases and stereotypes. Overcoming these challenges required resilience and a strong belief in my abilities.

I excel in building authentic relationships with clients. I have an excellent ability to listen, empathize, and understand my clients. I stand out in my holistic approach by incorporating behavior/value driven financial planning, considering not only investments but also family dynamics, life goals, and emotional well-being.

As a woman, it can be challenging to find a balance between serving your clients and managing your business, while still maintaining your emotional health, and a happy personal and family life. At Salt Creek Wealth Management, our motto is:

Work, Love & Play.
The Great Balance Wheel of One’s Being

As a financial professional and managing partner at my company I place a high priority on finding this balance.

I believe my resilience, empathy, and expertise shape my success and inspire others.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my children and family.I am truly grateful for the profound experience of motherhood. Resilience, adaptability, and time management—essential skills in both motherhood and life—are now ingrained in my daily existence. The ability to prioritize, nurture, and embrace changes has shaped my approach to challenges and opportunities. Motherhood has taught me that success isn’t solely about achievements; it’s about fostering meaningful connections, leaving a positive impact, and finding joy in the small victories. As I guide my incredible family, I also guide myself toward a life rich with purpose, compassion, and growth.

I am an avid reader and embrace diverse outlooks and inspiring life stories. A favorite modern philosopher of mine is Malcolm Gladwell. His greatest strength is not always professing the answers but knowing the right questions to ask.

Success is rarely a solo journey. It’s the collective impact of these people—both known and unknown—that shapes our paths and defines our achievements.
