We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Sterling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Curiosity is my leading light. I’ve always loved learning and the more that I let myself lean into curiosity, the smoother everything flows. It fuels me! That process of being curious and then satisfying that desire to know through asking questions, reading, experimenting and exploring new things keeps me going. It is a never ending source of fascination. I also utilize it to get me through the bumps and valleys. When I come up against an experience that is causing me to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated, I can pull back and get that bird’s eye view that allows me to step back into curiosity. From that place, it is much easier to take a fun and playful approach to finding a solution or a new lens to look at things with.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Becoming and entrepreneur has been the deepest self development work I’ve ever done. Every day brings new hats to wear and new questions to answer. It keeps me constantly in a state of learning and evolving. My favorite part of owning my own business is the full creative control from my marketing and online presence to my one on one session. Working with my clients is always a co-creative process and I love showing up to work every day with the essence of mystery to what the client will bring and what fun things we will find today. I’ve learned that the more I can stay open to infinite possibilities and not get stuck in trying to control outcomes, the more blown away and amazed I am by the actual process and the end result. Every human has such a fascinating story, outlook and a unique perspective that is just right for them. I love being able to get a peek into the way that my client’s minds and bodies work and facilitate creating the space for them to tap into their innate wisdom.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d have to spend a lot of time outdoors! From hiking to soaking in the hot springs, my favorite part of Colorado are all of the beautiful ways to connect with nature. I would take them to visit Meow Wolf in Denver, Pearl Street in Boulder, and take a day trip down to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mentorship has been a huge piece of my success. From when I was ballet dancer, my mentor Patti Eylar, always instilled in me a drive to succeed that was coupled with compassion and care for others. She showed me first hand what it looks like to keep your integrity at the forefront of everything that you do and to let yourself be led to commit to your passion and allow that to fuel your life. My mentor in hypnosis, Melissa Tiers completely shook my entire outlook on life by encouraging my curiosity and endless fascination with the way we work. Working with her and learning from her helped me to loosen the grips of perfectionism and realize that play and self trust were more powerful than sticking to a set script or rules. She helped me to have the bravery to question the beliefs I had always been taught not to question and that opened a whole new way of experiencing the world.
