Meet Emily Bennett | Fixer, Builder and Business Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Just do what you love and the money will come.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bennett Consults supports mid-market Firms in efforts to turnaround and/or restructure their business because profitability has an opportunity.
The philosophy is transparency
The approach taken is human-centric, data-driven, establishes accountability and focus.
Being human-centric means we lead with teammates are the who and can make ‘the how’ possible. I love to effectuate change in businesses; pushing people to do something they may have never done before and see the moment the business becomes profitable is so rewarding.
Businesses succeed because they execute well consistently and coaching teammates through the tough road is fun.
Fun does not mean easy and resilience is necessary. The ability to lead through tough conversations and hard times with data to back you up is not for the faint of heart. Resiliency, triple checking the numbers and working with Clients that can handle it is how you get through.
This work is not for everyone – it can be really hard. In my experience nothing is easy. My superpower did not just fall out of the sky or was all of the sudden discovered and appreciated by millions. My superpower was built through experience, grit, resiliency, failure and straight-up hard work. Without it, I wouldn’t know how to take a $50M company that is operating in the red with $100k in the bank to profitable, enough cash to build a bonus program for employees on the over.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Denver – We’d head up to Red Rocks and do the stairs, have a delicious lunch at El Tapatio then head up to my favorite place in the mountains.
Denver has been home a long time. The most enjoyable home base when travel was prevalent to cities that seemed great in the surface until you spend M-F for months there and you regret life decisions.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband. He’s the best….supportive; willing to remind me when I need to slow down and supportive when I need to drive the bullet train.
Knowing how I work is crucial to allowing me to be the best wife, mom and business executive.
