We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Jerome and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would say that the most important factor behind my success is my passion. I love what I do, & that gives me an advantage. I have the opportunity to really make an impact in my clients’ lives, & that is something that not everyone can say they get the chance to do. I wake up every morning excited to go to work, excited to grow my skills, & excited to create beautiful works of art through the hair.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a licensed cosmetologist in Colorado for almost 5 years now, & I am so truly blessed to be doing what I love. I am always pursuing new education in my field, & I have put 100’s of hours into perfecting my coloring skills. Every client that comes in is like a new canvas & I get to really put my skills to the test to create something spectacular that my clients will leave feeling confident in. It all sounds so magical, but its not been an easy road. I had to take a lot of time away from my family to get where I am today, but they have been so supportive. Learning to balance work & family hasn’t been easy, but I’ve had to learn that its ok to say no. Its ok to put your family first, & your work life second. You can still be successful without putting in 60+ hours a week. If there is anything that I think people should know is that I care about my clients, most of my clients are more like friends to me. When you sit in my chair I can guarantee that I’m 100% invested in listening to you, & giving you the best possible experience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am so in love with my town – Wellington is truly a hidden gem. Owl Canyon keeps me fully caffeinated all week long, & they have the most delicious baked goods. When I’m ready to unwind you can usually find me at one of my favorite watering holes Soul Squared or Old Colorado Brewing, & lets not forget my absolute favorite brisket street tacos at Love Shack BBQ. Wellington still has that small town feel, & I am so lucky to raise my family in such a strong community.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my husband (John Jerome) & my children (Alexis, Braya, & Sam). Growing my business has taken a lot of time away from them, & they have been nothing but supportive. I do what I do for them. I want to give my kids the life they deserve, & that pushes me to always give 110% behind the chair.
