Meet Erin Stebbins | Clinical Massage Therapist & Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Stebbins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been an entrepreneur. Since I was a little girl. I was great with the girl scout cookie sales, I would make and sell my art, and there was always this relentless drive inside of me to do better, to grow and expand past where I was the day before, and to experiment and see what would work. It’s like it ignited the best parts of me, my creativity, my problem solving, and my love of connection with other people!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A big thing that sets me apart in my massage practice is how values driven I am. The building blocks of a successful business in my opinion, especially in the health and wellness field is integrity to your own values, so really standing up for what you believe in, and trusting that the people who align with that are going to find you as well. I have found that to be incredibly true, and to create something that I can feel really good about showing up to every single day.
Professionally, how I got to where I am is by working my ass off, and climbing my way to where I am 😅 of course it was difficult, and keeping my eyes on the big Why of it all has been what makes it really sustainable for me. I’m proud to say that this is something I created. I’m proud to know that I can help the community in this capacity, and I’m proud to say that it’s balanced enough for me that I can continue doing this for a really long time.
One of the most important lessons I think I’ve learned over the course of this is how to trust yourself. As an entrepreneur, and as a solopreneur, you have to really be able to lean on yourself, trust your own decisions, and believe in yourself every step of the way. It can be super challenging, and it’s definitely a lifelong practice, but every day I deliberately practice it, the better I get, and the more success I find!
My passion really lies in education. I feel empowered to help people reestablish a connection with their own body, which is a relationship they’re going to have for the rest of their lives. And I think that can be a catalyst for absolutely profound life change. On all sorts of different levels. Not just physical, but emotional, mental and spiritual as well. I value education so deeply and that’s always going to be a leading tenet for me in my practice, and in my life. It’s what keeps me going!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day one we would definitely hit up federal, and go to some of those incredible Mexican restaurants. Of course.
Next day we would hit up meow wolf, because obviously
Next day we would go to my favorite rooftop bar, Le meridian, and enjoy the sunset!
Lastly we would go to nocturne jazz for the evening, and sip some exquisite cocktails and listen to some incredible jazz. What a great week!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The massage school I attended, the massage therapy institute of Colorado hold a really special place in my heart. The instructors were so insightful, compassionate and thorough, and I wouldn’t be nearly as successful as I am without their guidance and their support.
