We had the good fortune of connecting with Fred Dayton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fred, what principle do you value most?
Community! Building a strong internal and external community has been very important to me and how I run my business. Inside Mach983 CrossFit, making sure that everyone feels like they have a safe space to come workout and external ensuring that we are partnering with local business and non-profits to help our community thrive.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Mach983 CrossFit is a community focused gym that was created to help and support people through their physical and mental journey. We are a CrossFit gym and that is the physical exercise that we deliver to clients, but we offer so much more to our community. We partner with local non-profits and businesses to offer much more than CrossFit. I believe that we are making a much larger impact than I can see at this time. Offering fitness and mentoring to at-risk teen community has been a core focus for the gym and it has been far more rewarding than I could ever thought. keep forging new partnerships is one piece of advice I would give any business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver has to many cool spots to check out, obviously I would start my days with a fun workout at Mach983 CrossFit. Then post workout, stop by Upswell for an ice bath and sauna to start my recovery process. Post recovery, head over to Stanley Market place for a quick bite to eat and drink at one of the many small businesses in the market. Post lunch, maybe a nap at this point :), but if not a quick walk or bike ride through the central park hood on one of the many accesses paths. Afternoon happy hour at Second Dawn, Station 26, or Cheluna Brewing before we hit one of the many local dinner spots. Annette is always a great place to grab a fantastic meal or TagBurger bar has great burgers. You also can’t go wrong with any of the street taco places in and around the city. Close the evening down with a drink or cocktail at Dirty Laundry bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is hard to pin-point one person or one-event to shoutout, but rather a combination of people and a series of life events that have contributed to where I am today. Everything happens for a reason and I think my personal sequence of events have allowed me to be very grateful for the community support over the years. I’ve been fortune enough to foster and develop crucial mentorships that have taught me inviable life skills and have lead to many different successful aspect of my life. It takes a village and I’ve had a super large village of support over the years!
