Meet George Rucker | Photographer & Brand Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with George Rucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi George, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I grew up in a place where there were little to no jobs available. So things weren’t easy but the ambition I saw my parents have to give us the things we needed or wanted inspired me. The goal has always been to break a generational cycle and provide a different way of living for my loved ones from that day forward. I ended up losing my father in February of 2018 that loss was so detrimental to me I lost all drive to do anything for a very long time. Around the end of 2021 I was able to gain enough of my composure to make the decision to honor his memory and make him proud I was going put my all into starting my brand Exotix95.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from anyone is that I’m being me. I don’t follow a trend I tend to set my own and do my own thing. I’m most excited about the Merch I have dropping next month. It’ll be the first of our clothing line so I’m excited for my vision to come to life. I arrived to this point merely through faith and determination. Of course investing in myself as well. That would be the toughest challenge I had to face actually. Having a family it isn’t always easy to invest in yourself but you have to find the time. A very good lesson I’ve learned along the way would be don’t be afraid to bet on yourself. Once it’s all said and done I want the world to know Exotix95 iis a renaissance brand producing a message of love. Love who you are and be who you are unconditionally..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man that is a great question. If I had to name a few spots to hit in the city we have to huhot cause my friends and I love to eat lol. We enjoy our extra circulars so definitely have to go to the green solution or Callie’s. I like to find dope little cafe spots to try out so we’d certainly hit a few of those. We’d also have to make a trip out to boulder just to take in the sights and the views.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be anywhere without the love and support of my family. My 2 beautiful daughters Maulani,Ayumi,& My Wife Shiann. My Cousin Eddie. My mother Felice, My Siblings Gerrod & Gelisa last but certainly not least my biggest motivation my father Maurice.
