We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Di Tullio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a person with multiple food allergies, I struggle to find safe food options when dining out. Socially, our culture is deeply intertwined with food, and not having the opportunity to fully participate in social events such as parties, simple food centric gatherings, or even a happy hour, left me frustrated and feeling like an outsider. Eating out in restaurants that are not allergy aware can be unsafe and intimidating–not to mention that, in most cases the options are very limited and typically tasteless.

I wanted to create a place where people felt safe, comfortable, and fulfilled when, eating. I am elated when a customer enters my store and hesitantly inquires about their options–It is delightful to see them brighten up and express such joy when they realize the abundance of choices that Gina’s Kitchen offers.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I worked for decades in the information technology field and thought that I needed to work to live. Through much introspection and consistent work on myself, I recognize the importance of sharing my gifts and living through my work. I am a highly creative individual and have been a performance artist and teacher for most of my life. I love to support, encourage, and inspire others to express themselves creatively as I believe this connects us with our best selves. Sharing my creativity through food by baking and cooking is my next journey on this path.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I’m not an expert in the Aurora Denver Metro areas. However, I do love to dance, support live music, and local theater productions–and it would be a shame not to include a night of karaoke! I know this sounds opportunistic, but I would really like to cultivate awareness of the Parkside Eatery which is the collective upscale food hall where Gina’s Kitchen resides. We’re bringing fun activities, like trivia, karaoke, paint and wine, and themed game nights to the eatery and bar to provide a new and welcoming hangout near Aurora Town Centre.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to offer appreciation to my spiritual mentor Blue Feather for helping me recognize the importance of sharing my gifts, as well as, my parents and heart family for their consistent and diligent support.
