We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayden Everhart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hayden, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One of the most important factors behind my success is the support of my family.

My parents have always supported me in everything I do, whether it is sports or my creative career. My parents bought me my first 2 cameras, and have helped me heavily on the marketing side of things. They will often change their schedules around my work so that I can further my career, and I am forever grateful to them for that.

Another big factor in my success is my persistence. I often find that creatives, especially in the sports industry, burn out because they aren’t able to be persistent with their work. For me, being persistent in putting out content has been something that has played a huge part in the growth of my business.

Lastly, I am always trying to improve my craft. When i am not actively filming or editing a video, i am thinking about new content ideas and researching how to get better.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Creative Director/Content Creator that is based in Colorado Springs. My niche is creating 30-second to 1-minute hype videos for high school, college, and professional athletes/teams all over Colorado. This is something I have been doing for about 4 years now, and I love it. I spent about 3 years developing my craft working with high schools before I started working with Colleges and some professional teams. My path to where I am now was not easy. I spent a lot of time and money to get to where I am now. Lots of hours out in the cold at Football games, or a hot gym filming basketball. I also have had to balance being an athlete with my creative career, as I played both baseball and competitive swimming.

One of the biggest things I learned in this whole process, is the importance of persistence and communication. In persistence, I learned that if I keep putting content out, my business will grow, and I will gather more of a following. Persistence is also a big thing for me when talking about my work. I always want to get better at what I do and want to make the next video better than the last. Communication is one of the biggest things I learned in this whole process. I deal with lots of people every day, and sometimes things don’t workout exactly how i want/wish they would. With this, i need to be able to properly communicate my process and be able to understand what clients are asking of me.

Through all of that, I was able to build up a brand that is known all over Colorado Springs and is still growing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to a couple of people.

I first want to dedicate this to my family, as they have been an instrumental piece in my development not only as a person, but also as a creative. They have always supported me and helped me with anything I needed help with.

I also want to give some credit to Stephanie Leasure, former Doherty High School Athletic Director. She was one of the first people who believed in me as a creative and gave me a ton of opportunities to grow as a creative and also as a person.

Lastly, i want to give support to anyone who has ever liked, commented, or shared my work. Without those people, i wouldn’t be where i am at now.
