We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Jachimiak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was really looking for a way to balance family life and work life. My husband and I both had 9-5 office jobs and I felt as though our children were spending more time in daycare then with us. Photography has always been something that I loved doing, a creative outlet for me. So when my company was purchased and my job was eliminated, I decided I wanted to try to turn my passion into a business. My husband gave me 6 months to see if it truly was something I wanted to do and we have not looked back. Owning my own business allows me to be more present for my children. I get to pick them up from school and volunteer in the classrooms. I feel like starting my own business has allowed me to. be a better wife, mom and person.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a mom — just like most of my clients! I know, first-hand, how overwhelming new parenthood can be. I know what it’s like to be caring for a new family and and to always put yourself last. This made me want to inspire other Mama’s to put themselves first. Being a Mother is a tireless and often thankless job, the fact that we created these perfect little beings is a BIG deal. An accomplishment that deserves to be honored! I love making new mothers feel beautiful and pampered. All the while being able to create perfect little moments amongst the chaos — to celebrate the love and joy that is motherhood.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ha- if only you had asked me this 20 years ago. These days my kids soccer schedules keep me so busy I have little time for anything else. I do however love great food & wine. We would definitely hit up Cuba Cuba in the Golden Triangle (best mojitos around and their food is SO GOOD!), take in a soccer game or two if it is soccer season, maybe a trip to Vail for sight seeing or RMNP for a hike. I am sure there would be a lot of wine drinking on a nice patio if it is summer time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I don’t even know where to start. My family has been so supportive, especially my husband, stepping in to parent duties during my busy season. He has really encouraged me when I thought my work wasn’t good enough, celebrated all of the little victories that we small business owners have and has really just been my biggest cheerleader. I probably wouldn’t still be in business all these years later if he didn’t encourage me to keep at it .
