We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaime Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaime, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I consistently let my kids know that they are loved, seen and heard. I don’t think there has ever been a harder time to be a child with all of the influences and things around them, and really just letting them know, that while sometimes their problems might be “small” it doesn’t mean that it’s not hard, and it doesn’t take away from how it’s affecting them. I have used what I have learned while building a business to also build up my children and family.
What should our readers know about your business?
Starting up a business is never for the fait at heart. It takes grit, determination, dedication, discipline and a thick skin! I first dipped my toe into the world of entrepreneurship in college when I was getting my certificate of entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business at CU-Boulder. I wrote a business plan, then proposed it to the school with my team and was given a $60k loan to start a coffee shop. From then on, the idea of owning my own time was something that was extremely enticing. After leaving my career in sports, I was presented an opportunity that I wasn’t fully educated on and turned it away. After being present it multiple times, I quickly realized that it was an opportunity that I had been praying for – it just came “wrapped” in a box I wasn’t expecting.
The Networking Marketing word had always been a thing of mystery, but after being in it now for 10 years this November, I have quickly realized it is an entrepreneurs dream in that it gives me the opportunity to do the parts I love, and leave the backend business parts to someone else.
I love that I get to help people who lead busy lives, like myself, find healthy alternatives to find just how good their body is truly meant to feel.
It has not always been easy, and I have had people challenge my authenticity, motives and intentions, but in the end, my heart for what this company stands for, what I stand for, and why I pour into others, far outweighs the stigma one might have about the industry or their hesitations to it.
I have learned that everyone deserves to be loved, seen and heard and I absolutely love that I have this opportunity as a vehicle to do just that.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado is a pretty amazing place to be, and personally I am all about the outdoors. I would start with a morning of yoga at Red Rocks, stay in Morrison for a bite to eat at The Cow – An Eatery. During the week we would hit up places like The Goldfinch Denver for a drink and bite to eat, a walk around Wash Park, a coffee from Monk and Mongoose and a hike around the Bluffs or take to a 14er. Would love to get out of town and check out Estes Park and walk around the town or head to Breckenridge and take part in the activities on the mountain including the fun park and alpine slide. Then enjoy the gluten free pizza at Piante.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s been countless books, podcasts, trainings and people that have poured into me over the years, but I have to give a huge shoutout and thank you to my upline and more importantly, dear friend, Wendy Eggen. It’s her consistent belief in me, mentorship and commitment to building together that has helped guide me to where I am today.
