We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Business has always been something that was attractive to me. I grew up in a family of Entrepreneurs so it has always been in my blood. It also provides it’s freedoms along with it’s chains as well but, not having to wake up every morning and work your tail off to make someone else rich is a pretty good motivator as well. Business is passion… It’s passion for what you love and creating a business plan that ultimately supports your life plan. This is what has kept our company driving over and over again despite any bumps in the road.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our passion is helping business owners move from working for their business to making the business work for them. We help them find the clarity, direction and focus they need to supercharge their results and fall in love with their business like never before. Our expertise is second to none when it comes to removing the barriers that impede success. With over 2+ decades of business and mentoring experience under our belt, we will show them how to take proper command over their team, their cash-flow, and their lives. We will work with them to achieve more profit and more enjoyment from their business. Most of all, begin loving their business and operating from a 30,000-foot viewpoint. Be the visionary and delegate the doer role to the right staff. We focus on smart business growth in a changing environment. We are always highly focused on the customer and help our clients execute strategies as fast as possible. Growing a business fast requires special attention and focus on the customer’s needs, wants and desires. This means focusing on the problems to be solved that allow you as a business owner to offer a product that fills a gap in the marketplace quickly. Doing this means higher profits in their business and also higher rates of customer acquisition and customer retainability. The faster they can develop products that fill these consumer gaps the more their company will grow. This requires fast action in a rapid production mode to get ahead of your competition. This is what we pride ourselves in doing with our clients. We help them and their company build a successful model and implement the tools, plans and support structures to drive their business to its optimal potential. We will help them focus on each phase of growth for their business. Failure is part of business and it’s important to get up and dust yourself off and move the chains forward. I tell my clients “Don’t make excuses, make progress”. Failure in any part of our lives is an important learning tool. Failure teaches us not to make the same mistake twice and as my grandfather used to tell me growing up. “The hardest lessons you will learn are the ones you have to pay for”. We have paid our fair share through mistakes and wrong decisions in our company. But we learned from them and pivoted back on course. Like they say, you only know, what you know. If I were to leave a legacy statement for the world to know our brand by it would be simple “Where Results Matter” it is our North Star and the motto that drives Miller & Company as a Mentorship company that only works directly with CEO’s.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is exactly why we moved to the Boulder area in 2017. Boulder is such a great town that is full of the entrepreneurial spirit. There are so many wonderful places to go here. Pearl street is our favorite hang out to just go get lost in the summer. Great food every 100 feet, great beer and people to associate with even if pure strangers. Boulder just has that vibe that we were looking for in a place to raise our children. Prior to the Pandemic our favorite hang out hands down was Boulder Beer. Great ambiance, great people and just a fun place to let your hair down for the day! Then there is Denver, what a place to go to get lost for DAYS! The Zoo, Aquarium and museums are just fantastic. Have some eclectic food on some backstreet that no one knows about and a glass of wine on the roof of a great pub in the evening. These are the reasons we located our company to Colorado. Family, Food and Fun are always at every turn!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
No individual or company gets where they are on their own. It’s just a fact! Smart people surround themselves with people that are even smarter and or are experts at what they do. I would contribute the success of my company to some of my mentors, my father, my wife and kids and also many of my peers. One of my peers that I have looked up to and was one of my first leaders while serving in the Military was Mike Jackson. Mike taught me “What Right Looks Like” at a very pivotal point in my military career. Which I attribute to many successes later in life. My wife of course has always been my North Star. She keeps the family grounded and on point and that in itself is a full time job and something to be extremely proud of. She is a full time mother and also the PM (Project Manager) for our company and for many of the companies we work with. She manages to juggle all of that and still keep the family in working order and on point with EVERYTHING! My father raised me tough and resilient! Growing up in the “Military Way” of thinking pushed me to serve my country as well. His tough yet loving demeanor growing up was the fuel that every young man needs to lead a successful life and for that I am grateful! There were no trophies for 2nd place in my household. All of my children (4) Briana, Haylee, Barrett and Vivi are my inspiration for waking up every single day. They are all the reason why any parent works so hard. To “Maybe” give them a better life than they had. There are challenges, mistakes and missteps in parenting along the way. But at the end of the day we all do our best to do what will ultimately make their lives better when we leave our legacy behind. That is my “Hope” in the end. There are so many more people that I could mention and they all know exactly who they are and the influences they had on my life. For that I am deeply grateful for their input and guidance along my journey.
