Meet Jennifer Accola | Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Accola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our (my husband and I) journey into starting the business really began with doing our own house projects. What started as a personal interest quickly turned into a passion for making living spaces more beautiful, functional, and thoughtfully designed. As we gained experience, we realized we had a real eye for detail and a talent for transforming spaces. That passion naturally evolved into buying and fixing up homes in high-end real estate markets, where we saw the impact of quality design paired with smart investment decisions. Over time, our work caught the attention of others, and what began as a personal endeavor organically grew into a full design-build business. It was never about starting a business just for the sake of it, but it was about turning something we genuinely loved into something that could help others love where they live.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re a small but passionate design firm that specializes in large-scale, high-end remodels and new builds. What sets us apart is our hands-on, collaborative approach. We don’t just design beautiful spaces, we focus on creating homes that feel deeply personal and functional, tailored to each client’s lifestyle and vision. Our background in doing our own projects has given us a practical, grounded perspective that we carry into every job.
Getting to where we are today wasn’t always easy, it’s been a journey of learning, growing, and constantly improving. We’ve faced plenty of challenges, but we’ve overcome them by being willing to learn as we go and by staying committed to doing better every single day. One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that in renovations, nothing ever goes 100% according to plan. The key is to prepare, anticipate, and adapt, because how you handle the unexpected is what makes all the difference.
What we want the world to know about our brand is that we truly care. We’re here to help clients bring their vision to life, not just by creating beautiful designs, but by guiding them through the process with honesty, care, and expertise. Our goal is to make their home feel like them—elevated, intentional, and uniquely theirs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d have my best friend stay at one of Cherry Creek’s stylish boutique hotels like Halcyon, Clayton Hotel, or Hotel Clio, all of which offer chic interiors, rooftop pools, and easy access to everything in the neighborhood. We’d start our mornings with a great cup of coffee and pastries from a local favorite like Pablo’s Coffee or Cherry Creek Coffee Company. From there, we’d spend the afternoon strolling through Cherry Creek North, a walkable 16-block district filled with upscale boutiques, art galleries, and home design stores, perfect for a little inspiration and retail therapy. For dinner, we’d treat ourselves to an incredible meal at Le Colonial or Matsuhisa, both offering upscale atmospheres and unforgettable cuisine. We’d end the night with craft cocktails at Forget Me Not, a beautiful bar known for its creative drinks and vibrant energy.
Another day would be more outdoor time on the Cherry Creek Trail, a beautiful, tree-lined path perfect for walking, jogging, or biking right from the neighborhood. It’s a great way to take in the natural beauty of the area while staying active. For lunch, we’d keep things casual with a stop at Cherry Cricket, a local institution known for its legendary burgers and laid-back vibe, or Cherry Creek Grill for classic American fare in a cozy setting. In the afternoon, we’d venture just a few minutes away to Wash Park to enjoy some nature—whether that’s a lakeside walk, paddleboarding, or just relaxing with a view. After freshening up, we’d head back to Cherry Creek for dinner at Local Jones, a neighborhood favorite that serves elevated comfort food and has an inviting, community-focused feel.
For the rest of the week, we’d dive deeper into Denver’s creative and cultural scene. We’d start with a day of shopping and art in Cherry Creek, possibly catching the Cherry Creek Arts Festival if the timing is right. From there, we’d branch out into nearby neighborhoods like RiNo and the Santa Fe Art District to take in street art, grab drinks at unique breweries, and enjoy vibrant local energy. One evening, we’d catch a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, an unforgettable experience. While another day might include a trip to Union Station and dinner in LoDo. We’d wrap up the trip with a game at Coors Field, soaking in the city’s mix of nature, culture, and fun. It’d be the perfect blend of luxury, creativity, and adventure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to recognize Lindsey Borchard and Anastasia Casey, the founders of Design Camp. When I was first dipping my toes into the design world, I came across them and decided to attend Design Camp. That experience truly changed everything for me. It gave me the confidence and clarity I needed to take the leap and launch my business into what it is today.
Design Camp isn’t just about inspiration, it also brings designers together to form real, honest, and supportive relationships, and it provides the blueprint we need to level up both creatively and strategically. I’m so grateful for the community and guidance they’ve built. That experience played a huge role in helping me turn a passion into a business with purpose.
