Meet Jennifer Ogilvie & Sutton Schuler | Co-Founders | Ladies Only Golf

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Ogilvie & Sutton Schuler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer Ogilvie & Sutton Schuler, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Now that we are on the other side of fashion – the design, manufacturing and distribution side – we see that the industry is actually craving sustainable brands. As a culture we talk so much about waste and fast-fashion, but people and factories that are actually on the other side are held hostage to so many industry standards that make it almost impossible to be eco-friendly and environmentally aware. From shipping practices, packaging and fabric waste, we evaluated every single aspect of our business to capture achievable sustainability. And when we went out in search of factories, we were surprised at how many held the same core values.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ladies Only Golf was founded in 2020 when women were being drawn to the game of golf in record numbers, especially as it was a pandemic-friendly activity. From being in the golf space casually, we knew that women also had a deep desire for a more approachable and stylish wardrobe than was currently available. While both men and women have been reaping the benefits of athleisure clothes to take them from their active life to where ever else the day takes them, the same could not be said for golf clothes. With both luxury retail experience and a keen eye for detail, we knew that we could straddle the line between functional athletic clothes and style, tailored specifically for women. The name came from a dream to provide an inclusive space for women who have historically been sidelined by stodgy country clubs and archaic rules. We see the game of golf changing and we wanted our clothes to reflect that feeling.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love hosting people in our tiny resort town! Telluride is like a snow-globe and always full of mystery no matter the season. We usually start with a ride on our free Gondola that traverses between the historic mining town of Telluride and Mountain Village where Telluride Ski and Golf is headquartered along with the MV Core, a European-inspired collection of restaurants, shops and lodging. During the day, there is no lack of golf or hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. We have miles and miles of beauty just waiting to be discovered. After a round of golf with the most dramatic mountain views, snagging an outdoor table at the New Sheridan Chop House is our favorite and no meal there is complete without a Flatliner, our town’s signature cocktail. Think of an espresso martini, but somehow better! An unforgettable dinner would be at La Marmotte, a French restaurant housed in an 1893 ice house that has been delivering exceptional cuisine for over 30 years. Late nights tend to lead us to the Last Dollar Saloon, called the Buck by locals, for lots of laughs, cocktails and one of the only fireplaces in town! Honestly, a week isn’t even long enough to enjoy this magical place where we live! The wild energy of these mountains is a huge inspiration to our company and we love sharing it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our shoutout is to Jessica Lewis Edler and the greater female golf community. Jessica ran her own clothing brand based out of Los Angeles for 9 years and has guided our fledgling brand through the waters of US manufacturing. We are also in constant awe of the camaraderie and support of other female golf brands and customers in general.
