We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Abegg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
My three small children are a huge part of my business, and my big WHY for always pushing forward. They help me remember to be grateful and humble through the highs and graceful and perseverant through the lows. As a fifth-generation Denverite, I saw the patterns in my own family heritage and how the choices that they made (and more often did not make) in the Denver real estate market impacted the family line and our intergenerational wealth. Those impacts rippled for generations. I am aware that the choices I make in property ownership will impact my own descendants as well, and I take that inter-generational role seriously. When I first started my business, I had a newborn daughter. She came with me everywhere I went, and by osmosis learned everything about the Denver real estate market. She also sees me winnings awards and accolades, and more importantly sees the impact my work has on my clients as well as the long-term relationships I build with them as a result. All my children do. I often involve them where I can, helping to make gifts for clients, accompanying me on showings, or just making quiet space for mommy to work. They get paid for their contributions, so that my business is everyone’s business. It’s very important to me that my children see me joyfully dedicating myself to serving others, and that that servant heart is fueling our family. I want them to learn a very strong work ethic, and understand the importance of finding work that integrates with their own passions and love. I want them to find what I have found, work in the world that is often seamless with play.
What should our readers know about your business?
fifth generation Denverite, I maximize my extensive local knowledge and vast interpersonal network in the Denver market to get my clients the greatest outcome possible. I am passionate about helping others fall in love with my city as they pursue their best life possible through real estate. Utilizing my dual Masters Degrees in Business/Marketing from the University of Colorado, I aggressively market your property. As an experienced marketing professional, I analyze the current market conditions and then develop a customized marketing campaign that addresses the market and targets potential buyers. I provide a high level of attention and service, advising you on pricing, staging, negotiating and settlement issues. After living, working, and traveling in over 45 countries, I’ve come to realize that Denver will always be home no matter how far I travel. It truly is the best place to live. As mom to three fabulous children, married to my East Denver High School sweetheart, and living in my dream home just blocks from my childhood home in Park Hill, I’m committed to helping others live their best life in this amazing city.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing I would do (in the time of no COVID) would be to invite them to my monthly walking tours throughout the city. I hire local historian Phil Goodstein to guide us through the history (good, bad, and ugly) of the most popular Denver neighborhoods, and gift tickets to people so they can learn all about Denver.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe everything to my mentors in the business. Huge shoutout to Josh Larsen and Kevin Root of the Rage Real Estate Team, as well as Whitney Sweet of Keller Williams.
