We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Support! The support of my amazing partner Will, my family, and friends is what I owe my success to! Could I have started my massage practice on my own? Sure! But their constant support and encouragement has kept me pushing through the hard times where I wanted to quit. Their support has pushed me to challenge myself and grow. I’ve been able to bounce ideas off of them when I’ve otherwise hit a wall! If I didn’t have their support, my success would be a longer, lonelier path and im so glad that I can contribute my success to them!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a clinical Massage Therapist! My goal has always been to provide affordable healing to my clients in the comfort of their home own home. I bring my table and supplies to you to help provide ultimate relaxation and healing. I am most excited about my work with oncology, hospice, and prenatal clients. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are deserving of healing touch. I have had to overcome some health challenges in the last year that lead me to having two laparoscopic surgeries. In a way, I am so grateful for those physical challenges because it has brought me a new understanding for what my oncology and prenatal clients go through when surgery is the only option. It has helped me to better understand the full process of healing after the body goes under such physical trauma. With my job being physically demanding, It was especially challenging to have two surgeries within 4 months. It was with the support of my partner and family that I got through that challenging time and it really propelled me forward into my own practice because the Spa I was previously working for was not so understanding of the time off and healing that I needed before coming back to work. So I took my books into my own hands and really turned my attention to the clients that are seeking the comfort and healing that I received during my recovery period. I learned that no one can tell you how you are supposed to heal. Every surgery, every birth, every diagnosis is different and you can’t let someone else dictate how much time you get to be “yourself” again. Recovery is a up and down process and it’s an absolute honor to help others through that. I want the world to know that massage isn’t just a splurge. It’s a form of self care that everyone is entitled to. I want the world to know that each session is about YOU and should be catered to what you need! So, please be verbal about your expectations from focus areas to the amount of pressure! The more you communicate to your therapist, the more you will get out of your session.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh gosh! Where I would not take them would be a simpler answer haha! I’m in love with this city and want to show it all from the historic old Colorado city to the top of Pikes Peak! My favorite tourist experiences with my out of town friends and family have been Garden of the Gods and Cave of the winds tours (the spooky one in particular). The Cheyenne mountain Zoo is an absolute favorite, and I’ve visited many zoos! The giraffe feeding experience and views set it over the top! An afternoon visit through Manitou springs is a must, and if my visitors are feeling up for the challenge the incline is always fun! My favorite coffee place for a midday fuel up is Carnelian Coffee Co in Old Colorado City! Favorite evening drink spot is Allusion Speakeasy Downtown because they constantly change their themes and drinks so it’s a fun, new experience every time! A nice hike I like to take people on is the Seven Bridges Trail because it’s beautiful and beginner friendly! You can fit so much into a weeklong stay and you really can’t go wrong with what you choose to do!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are SO many people I can recognize for my success. Without the support of my family, I wouldn’t have been able to receive the education I needed to be in this career that I love. Without the support of my partner Will, I wouldn’t have been able to quit my job and dedicate my full attention to starting my own business. Without the support of my teacher Ms. Dale, I wouldn’t have had the best education which has been the foundation of my career. There are so many friends and mentors over the years that have helped me grow in confidence in ways that I am forever grateful for!
