We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Funck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the most important factor is that I continued to try and bring my best to my clients and to my daily life. Effort and consistency in the pursuit of waking up with a positive mindset and trying to consider the needs of the people who come to see me each week. I am always grateful and I try to make sure everyone feels relaxed and uplifted when they are with me in my studio goes a long way. I am focused on serving the community through giving them the art they ask for.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me I love the art of tattooing. I’ve worked in many mediums, and not all with success. It’s hard for me to keep myself doing just one certain style because I find wonder in almost all of the tattooing styles. I want to grow to be able to master all of them. It’s a long road, but it’s really what I aim for. I am glad that I’m at a point where I feel I have made headway on that goal. I always seek to give my best in any style I take on.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d say going camping for a couple of days would make it one hell of a trip. Take out the dirtbike and the minibike, telescopes, and set up camp. I’d probably enjoy taking them to Tarryall/Badger Flats for that. I’d also take them around to the best food joints in the Springs, like the Rabbit Hole the Famous or MacKenzies Chop House. Other than that I really enjoy a good chill at the house with some good friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly all the people ove worked with have shown me things that really have shaped the way I conduct business. No matter if we fell out or not, which seems to be a common thing in this industry, I can reflect on conversations and mindsets that have struck me and continue to be a solid way of thinking. There are so many people that it’s hard to name them. My clients past present and future are the main people I believe that deserve the recognition.
