We had the good fortune of connecting with Kereta Merchant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kereta, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I never set out to start a business; it all began with a personal struggle. I found myself in a state of depression, yearning for happiness without relying on external factors. In a moment of desperation, I made a promise to find inner joy with the help of a higher power. As I discovered my own path to happiness, I felt compelled to share this journey with others. And thus, Happitunity was born—a company founded on the belief that happiness is always within reach, and there’s an opportunity for it in every moment.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the core of my business is an unwavering commitment to the well-being and success of my clients. What sets me apart is not just my expertise, but my genuine care and belief in each individual’s ability to thrive. My journey to where I am today has been marked by resilience, self-belief, and the invaluable guidance of mentors who supported me along the way.
While the path wasn’t easy, I chose to bet on myself and persevere through challenges. I learned to push past fear and doubt, recognizing that I am enough at all times. Along the way, I’ve embraced valuable lessons, cherishing the journey as much as the destination.
I am a lifelong learner, finding joy in the lessons learned and growth experienced. My brand is more than just a business—it’s a promise made with a higher power to help others uncover their own happiness and unlock their fullest potential. I want the world to know that I am here to support and uplift others on their journey to fulfillment and success

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my incredible grandmother, Daphne Moorehouse. Since I was a child, she has been my guiding light, imparting invaluable wisdom and life lessons that have shaped me into the person I am today. Despite her challenges and lacking formal education and job skills, she showed me what it means to be fiercely independent, strong, kind, and to prioritize self-care. Her resilience and determination as an entrepreneur, particularly as a self-taught dressmaker, inspire me every day. I owe a tremendous amount of my success and achievements to her unwavering support, love, and mentorship. Mamma, thank you for being my rock and for teaching me the true meaning of resilience and perseverance. This shoutout is for you!
