We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Ferman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Giving up is not an option. When you put your entire life into something, you just keep going until things work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I spent the last 21 years of my life on a skateboard, I’ve dedicated my entire life to it. I picked up a video camera as a teenager and started making skateboard films with my friends. By 2018, I had filmed, edited, directed and produced 4 independent films, even taking first place in the Independent Skateboard Film Festival. When I realized there was hardly any money in filming skateboarding, I switched lanes and ended up here. Now we make custom skateboards for over 150 shops and brands around the country.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely Top Golf, that’s the first stop. We’d have to eat at Great Divide in Castle Rock, see Garden of the Gods, and go to the 3 best skateparks in the world. Arvada, Frederick, and Memorial Skatepark are the best!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a major shoutout to our production team. All of our guys in the back put their blood, sweat and tears into this place. Making skateboards is tough work. Machines break down, material shortages happen, and our processes are constantly changing. Our team is able to take the punches and keep on going, innovating at every turn.
