We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Kabore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, why did you pursue a creative career?
My parents were musicians and the ended up becoming documentarians making and producing films videos. So I always knew it was possible there has been a camera in my hand for a long time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would love to say an art is just a reflection of how I feel at the time I think the work that have done that’s been the most impactful has always come from a feeling. I made a video about Omaha Nebraska the place that I live in my true feelings on it, and that’s one of my best performing videos to this day and has opened the door for a lot of amazing opportunities similar when I was able to shoot the first project for Nike it kind of happened because of a passion project I made in the right people saw it and gave me an opportunity noticed when I’m out of my art good things happen it’s not always easy because at times it can be vulnerable. I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way that my superpower can also be the thing that hurts me the most for example I pride myself and being fast, but I learned that doing it right is better than doing it fast. Want to know that you all have a purpose in life even if it sounds crazy, it always sounds crazy until it works, so nothing is out of reach with him. All things are possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend is visiting the area, I would have him go to the zoo. Then we will go get some food to eat. It’s tough because he’s visiting. I would honestly tell him let’s go somewhere else.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents deserve a huge shoutout because of all the encouragement and support they have given me throughout my life. Also, I have been able to learn by so many amazing creative in my community Edison, creative, Jacob Willis, Josh Foo and so many people that have taught me so much, and give me the grace to learn I’m truly thankful. my time working at Noodle companies as the Art Director also gave me such a powerful learning experience.
