Meet Kristen Miller | Owner of Boho Studios, Master Injection Specialist BSN, RN

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started the business, I had 8 years of being in the industry, as well as training. I felt empowered to create a business model that was fully my own. My style of injecting has always been a more natural and artistic approach and created my business with that in mind, in its totality, from the studio look, to the vibe we create and the look we go for in all our clients.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my professional career as a intensive care nurse 33 years ago, and I used to dream about working in a medical spa in downtown Fort Collins for many of those years. In 2010, I got my injection specialist certifications, and began my journey as a nurse injector. I worked very hard for many years to build the trust within my clients and slowly began to build a large clientele. Over the years, I have worked to maintain my clients and continue to create relationships and friendships along the way, until I decided to expand my work to my own business. I never had to advertise, building my clientele was strictly word of mouth. Opening my own business, my intention was to create a environment for my clients to be in a beautiful, relaxing, zen space. My approach to injecting is a natural, graceful approach and I wanted my space to reflect that. I had a wonderful experience doing so, and in the last two years, have created a full medical spa. This has been the most challenging part of creating my business, but has given us many opportunities as well and has taught me so much about imparting my knowledge and skill onto others and sharing my craft with providers who like my approach and who want to inject like I do. My brand is exactly who I am as a person and as an injector. My motto is “Be Hippie, Be Natural, Be You” and I live by those words.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an avid salsa dancer, and love going to The Rio Grande restaurant in Old Town on the first Tuesday of every month, or Scrumpy’s in Old town on Thursday nights!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My landlord and the owner of our space here in Old Town, Carl Glaser has been nothing but supportive and so incredibly helpful in the creation of this business and the design of the studio. He has an architectural background, and he created exactly what my vision was for this space. Forever grateful to him and all he has done for us.
