We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Schnake and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Freedom. First of all, freedom to set my schedule and design my day and build my business so that I will not burn out, can maintain balance, and can serve my clients longterm. Secondly, freedom to best help clients by serving them with fitness & nutrition programming that is in line with the most recent research and also backed with years of experience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For the last 11 years, I’ve been fortunate to run my own fitness + nutrition coaching business, Peak Results. Early on, adapting to gaining clientele via social media marketing was a shift from working in a box gym where it was “given” to you. But, I now have so much fun offering tips, featuring clients, showing others what is possible for them. 2 things that set my business apart are 1. Helping clients weed through the mass amount of info out there with fitness + nutrition and showing them how simple it really can be to get and keep results 2. The Peak Results’ Community. I am fortunate to train awesome individuals and together, we get after some awesome goals of big hikes, races, or just testing out great restaurants 😉 Everyone is welcome and my mission is for others to feel that inclusion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcome to Grand Junction…. We get to start our day with a sunrise hike up Serpents Trail on the Colorado National Monument. The Monument is our mini Grand Canyon over here on the Western Slope. After our hike, we get to stop for a pastry and latte at a local favorite: Traders. Lunch will be at home to prepare for our afternoon / evening in neighboring Palisade. Palisade is known for the wineries. We get to rent bikes and visit a few before heading to close our evening at the new taco joint, Fidels. Great day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Parents & 2 older brothers who encouraged fitness at a young age and showed me what the body and mind are truly capable of.

My childhood best friend, Maggie. Maggie has one of the biggest dream bigger attitudes out there and has always pushed me to think outside of the box, to give it one more go, to not accept mediocrity.
