We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristi Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristi, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always loved being creative. When I entered college I went to school for interior design and I worked in the industry for a bit before my husband and I had our first child. I have always pursued creative things such as painting, sewing, and crafting. With my business I feel like I have combined my love for baking and my love for design. I love what I do and I love my customers who give me the opportunity to express myself through baking!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have always enjoyed baking and sharing delicious treats with everyone I meet. My business got started when we moved to Colorado and I started baking sugar cookies. I had a friend there who made the most delicious cookies and I missed them. I started trying to make them on my own. I enjoyed it so much I would just bake cookies and give them to friends and neighbors. Slowly people started asking to buy them for teacher gifts, class parties, or birthdays. Shortly after that I started getting requests for cakes so I added those too. When the COVID shutdowns came in March I started “stress baking” which led to my most popular product… bagels! Bagels have always been my go to breakfast since I was a young kid. I have always loved trying out different bagels shops in search of the perfect bagel. I thought I would try making my own! Now I make several flavors of bagels, cinnamon twist bread, pretzel loaf, and pretzel hamburger buns on top of custom cookies and cakes. I love trying out new recipes and fulfilling customer requests. I am adding items to my menu all the time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being fairly new to Colorado myself, I have really enjoyed exploring the whole state of Colorado. My husband, our 3 kids, and I have a whole list of items that we want to do and see. We try to enjoy new hiking places every weekend, which isn’t always possible but we try. We have enjoyed eating at Perry’s Pizza, going to Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, and fishing up Poudre Canyon. The kids and I like to spend time in the summer at the Windsor Lake beach and enjoy the many playgrounds around town,

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to send a shoutout to my husband. Without him and his continuous support I would not be able to start my own business. My mom also deserves a shoutout. She has always encouraged me to express my creativity and passed down her love for baking. A big Thank You shoutout to my customers! They are an amazing group of people who allow me to do something that I love.
