We had the good fortune of connecting with Krysti Schofield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krysti, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Teaching our children that time and relationships are the most valuable things in life and not what we acquire. We teach our children that you have to work hard in life, be kind to others and love one another to really be successful. We really function as a family based off of strong Christian values and give back and help others as much as possible.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Schofield Homestead was designed and created to give back to our community. I have started with natural soaps, hair and beard oils because what we decide to put on our skin and body is really important. There are so many plans with the business, we have goats and chickens here with the addition of more chickens on the way and a turkey! We are launching Homestead Days in summer 2022, which will not only give children the opportunity to experience and respect animals (milking goats, making butter, soap demonstrations…etc) but also gives children the opportunity to learn about God through fun bible study lessons and activities. I’m just starting out on the business side and know there will be challenges but there is nothing better then working for yourself and your family and doing something that not only lets me be home with my 5 children but to also include them on everything I’m creating.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live in Florissant, Colorado. We live off highway 24 which is a huge gateway to all the beautiful things Colorado has to offer. I always will stick to Garden of the Gods, and travel west to Mt. Princeton hotsprings. I love the Iron Tree in our town, and the most beautiful hike I have done so far is the Blue Lakes hike located in Ridgeway, Colorado right outside of Ouray.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband! Without him, I would of never taken the step to branch into my own business! It was scary leaving a 8-5, guaranteed paycheck to running and operating my own thing. He constantly encourages me and motivates me and pushes me. He is my biggest fan and I feel very blessed to have him. I also have to give the credit to God and blessing me with the opportunity to do what I’m doing and guiding me in every step.
