We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Wong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Honestly, there is so much variability and risk in my type of work where owning your own business, and only getting paid when clients hire you, has been a lesson in and of itself. Taking that step of faith is so scary, but so vital. Learning to trust where God is leading you is hard. There were so many days where I questioned what I was doing, where I was going, and even if I was in the right career to begin with. I’m so glad for those hard days though, because it reminded me I’m exactly where I needed to be and I simply needed to be faithful where I’m at, with what I have in front of me, and not worry about tomorrow.

What should our readers know about your business?
Real Estate is such a broad and multi-faceted industry, and unfortunately it doesn’t have the best reputation due to a few bad apples and public misrepresentation/perception. Some of the best, most hard-working, most selfless, and involved people I’ve ever met are in real estate. They truly love the clients they serve, the professionals they serve alongside, and the communities in which they are a part of. Not that this is about me, but I am personally the chair of our Young Professionals Network at the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, the host of our YPN Podcast aiming to help support young professionals in our industry. I am a former board member of the Castle Rock Artist Cooperative, a non-profit supporting and encouraging local artists. I am involved in public policy for real estate, because truly I believe that the biggest issues we face in real estate begin, and end, with legislation. And so many other things! Even on a day-to-day basis I’ve seen my team and my partners do things behind the scenes to help and serve their clients in ways that their clients will never even know about! I’m so thankful to work alongside such caring people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course it always depends on the friend and what they like the see and do, but I do believe there are a few staples in Colorado you HAVE to see! Some of them would include Red Rocks amphitheater, the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science (I love that type of stuff), driving out to a mountain town such as Breckenridge for the day, and of course we’ll hit amazing restaurants and grab coffee or tea (I love Ti Cafe for their Vietnamese coffee) and we’ll enjoy the Bronco-colored sunset! Perhaps even enjoy a local event in Downtown Castle Rock, or hit a speakeasy in Colorado Springs!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team lead and founder of our real estate team, Sean Murphy, has been a huge inspiration to me. He’s the type of guy that doesn’t start out as a genius, but will work and work and work, and try and try and try, until something happens. He has inspired me and led me to see the value in consistency and doing the work even when you don’t see the results, because eventually, you will. He always says “It’s just inputs and outputs.” And that has stuck with me. He believes in me and has supported me in numerous ways and I will forever be grateful to him and his leadership.
