We had the good fortune of connecting with La’ Kamaro Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi La’ Kamaro, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first I was a bit scared, scared of not being able to go as far as I wanted to go, to be able to see my dreams flourish into something much more than what it is. But then I realized that it wasn’t just about me, it was for my family, my daughter, and for the ones who can’t afford getting their vehicles fixed. So, I thought where do I start? How do I start? It took me while but then I realized that first I had to start at the beginning before I am able to get anywhere. I have to understand, embrace, and mostly respect my vision. Because once i grasp those fundamentals, then everything else will fall where they need to.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Honesty, compassion, empathy, love, joy, these are the things that I know within myself that separates me from everyone else. Not to say that none or most of them don’t practice, or have any of those traits, I feel as though it was lost along the way. some may have lost it from not getting where they need to be, some might have lost it because they got too far of themselves, but they lost it none the less. without any of those things, we forget who we are, where we came from, and why we are doing the things we do. I would rather be hated for being true to myself than to be loved for what I am not.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to ride my motorcycle, it gives me freedom to think to myself, and the most beautiful places that i love to go to are Manitou Springs. It is beautiful up there. Telluride is even more breath taking. It’s a journey for sure! But once you get over that ridge/road and come up on the drop in the road and you get to see the trees and the mountains in your sight, you’ll know that God truly exists to create a place like that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, God almighty because without him I would not be here and that’s a fact, because I almost didn’t make it in this world because of an illness that nearly took me out at only 8 or 9 months in this earth. Secondly, my momma for giving me life and sticking it out from all the hate and drama she had to endure from others. My wife, my motivator and bestie lol. She has been my rock through a lot of trials and struggles in my life. My little brother Taffari. I survived everything and push through in my early days of discovering myself because of him. Hector Sanchez, he is a brother, friend, mentor and all the above. He has been there for me throughout my military career and personal life. Jason Burks from the VA resume building team. He has saved me more ways than I can ever give him thanks for. He is an awesome listener and an amazing guide in life and then some.
