We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my own business to have the flexibility to spend more time with family. Whether it’s helping my parents or traveling with my husband, I love being able to make my own schedule. Every single day is different, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have had the opportunity to meet so many inspiring people throughout this journey of entrepreneurship. I’ve been blessed with incredible couples, an amazing team, and awesome vendor partners.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Events by Laura Anne is known for going above and beyond for our clients. All packages, even our day of coordination package, include an in-person venue meeting. We spend this extra time with our couples preparing for the big day to eliminate the opportunity for any detail to be missed. Our goal is to be as proactive as possible to identify and solve possible problems before they come to fruition. We provide unlimited communication throughout the planning process, regardless of package, so that we can fully support our brides during this busy (and sometimes stressful) time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots can be found in downtown McKinney. The historical area is home to some of the most unique boutiques and delicious restaurants that you can find. They are known for throwing incredible festivals that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Another great spot to check out in the McKinney area is The Heard Museum. It’s a awesome opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy nature while still being close to the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my wonderful mother, Kim Belcher. My Mom has been an amazing mentor throughout my life. Her strengths are very different from mine, so we work together beautifully. My love of décor and event planning came from years of watching my Mom volunteer at every school function. As an adult, I find myself raising my hand to help others in very similar ways. My Mom and I have had so much fun with planning and decorating for weddings, it has truly become a family business!
