We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Being consistent! Whether that be posting daily on my story/feed, or taking pictures and videos daily to create future (or potential) content. I also like following other creators who help inspire me if I’m feeling like I’m in a creative slump.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from other content creators is that I try to stay relatable and not over edit my content. That way people can feel like they’re visiting a restaurant themselves, instead of watching a commercial for a restaurant (if that makes sense).
I’m most excited about the way my brand has expanded in the past year+, and I can’t wait to see where it continues to take me.
It definitely hasn’t been easy because I’ve had to stay consistent with posting content, as well as working 50+ hours a week at my “9-5”.
I had to learn to overcome the fear of what people would think of me/what I posted and trying something new. Imposter syndrome is also a real thing for sure!
I want other people to know that they too should follow whatever hobby they’ve been wanting to pursue, and stop worrying about what other people will think!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to do in Colorado that it can be overwhelming! Might be basic, but, you have to visit Red Rocks. Whether it be for a sunrise, concert, walk, etc… it’s iconic for a reason!
One of my recent fav restaurants is The Greenwich, and an old staple is Sushi Den. I’ve been going there since I was a child so it’s very nostalgic to me.
I went to college at CU Boulder so I love taking people there to check out the flatirons and the town in general. Cafe Mexicali is hands down my fav fast casual spot, but they don’t have a location in Denver unfortunately. Cafe Mex if you’re reading this…COME TO DENVER PLEASE! 🙂
North, The Cherry Cricket, and Cucina Colore in Cherry Creek are also nostalgic spots for me. Hillstone never disappoints. I worked at J. Alexander’s when I took a year off from college, and I love the similarities between the two.
Ghost saloon is a new fav for a speakeasy/cocktail lounge! I honestly don’t go downtown much, but when I do, La Diabla is a must! I love that the food is authentic and the prices are affordable.
Wash Park is one of my fav neighborhoods. Take a walk around the park, visit the Green Collective for a smoothie or breakfast sandwich, and Wash Park Grille for a more casual dinner. Reiver’s is also a great neighborhood bar with delicious food!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
PR groups like Chatter Club and B Public Relations have been a huge help to me! I love that they’re woman + locally owned, help promote small businesses, and work with less known creators like me.
Also any of my friends and family who have attended any events with me have been a huge help. Sometimes I forget why I’m there, and they have to remind me to create content before eating (I just really love food! Haha) or suggest a different angle for a shot, etc.
