We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Wall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I honestly didn’t agree with pieces and parts of other companies and people that I had previously worked for/with in the past. I know health and fitness is such an important piece of life and I always felt like there was something missing from the programs and systems other people had created, so I decided to take matters into my own hands!
I actually started my company as a part-time role while working a corporate job before I was hired by another online coach. After 6 months I was let go due to differences in values and lack of opportunity to create that same missing piece.
I started my company, THE COMEBACK (formerly LaurenlIfts Online Training) to be able to help people on the side- but you could say I was “led” to take it on full time.
What should our readers know about your business?
THE COMEBACK is a one of a kind coaching program that combines fitness, nutrition and mindset coaching all in one. I take pride in the fact that when you complete my program, you’ll know everything you need to continue living a healthy lifestyle that you love and never have to start over again. I specialize in healthy habit building, so you truly are creating the best version of yourself from the inside out- no more fad diets or 6-week programs. We dive into the mindset work to really get to understand who it is we’re working to create, and we build her from the ground up- in a way you’ll enjoy that doesn’t feel overwhelming!
Business wise I have invested in multiple mentors, and just hired a new one last week! I truly believe having a great business starts with a great individual. When I invest in myself, I am also investing in bettering the lives of all my current and future girls in my program. It’s exactly what I teach- You can’t pour from an empty cup! It definitely has not been an easy ride, but the vision is greater than me. And as they say, nothing worth having comes easy. I constantly overcome the challenges by reminding myself why I’m doing this.
My dad died of pancreatic cancer 7 years ago and ran a business of his own (telecommunication sales and installation). I am growing my business to be able to give back to children who are grieving loved ones as well. To give them a safe space to open up about a topic that a lot of children can’t relate to. It’s like a win/win/win with being able to start the ripples of women taking care of themselves – that completely changes their lives and those lives around them, and being able to give back to a cause that’s close to my heart.
When my dad passed, I decided to make a big life change and stop playing basketball/transfer schools. This led to a lot of different life events that somehow got me to a personal training job after graduating during covid-19 with multiple interviews left on pause due to hiring freezes.
If this has taught me anything, it’s that we always have a choice. Every decision we make gets us one step closer to creating the version of ourself we actually want to be, or better yet to figuring out who that version is and what they stand for. That’s what I will continue to teach, preach and scream from the rooftops- No matter where you are in life, you have a choice. No matter your past, no matter your circumstances, no matter the voices in your head telling you you don’t. You’re just one decision away.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Denver- my best friend Sasha Stein has the best recommendations for places to go for everything. Barcelona Wine bar has an incredible menu with the best potatoes I’ve ever had (and really great diet coke). Brider is also an incredible chicken restaurant that’s healthy and quick!! Safta is INCREDIBLE as well if you like mediterranean. The pita is to die for.
Washington park is the perfect place to get your steps in, read a book or meet your friends for a picnic. Garage Sale vintage is such a cute vintage store and it also has a bar in the middle if that’s what you’re into! There are so many cute and cool parts of Denver to fit every style of person.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first ever online coach, Chelsea Immel. Chelsea showed me the true importance of a holistic fitness approach and how it’s not one size fits all.
She helped me progress on my own fitness journey and set the standard for what I knew to be a good health coach and life teacher.
This really expanded my realization of just how MUCH impact I could have on women around the world through my online coaching program, beyond just their physical appearance.
