We had the good fortune of connecting with Lawrence Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lawrence, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Community Impact

CrossFit Controlled Chaos has become more than a gym—it’s a cornerstone of the local community. By creating a welcoming, inclusive, and high-energy environment, the gym has empowered individuals of all ages and backgrounds to take control of their health and fitness. Through group classes, personal training, and community events, Controlled Chaos has fostered a culture of accountability, encouragement, and support. Many members not only achieve their physical goals but also experience improvements in confidence, mental resilience, and overall well-being.

The gym has also played an instrumental role in supporting youth development, coaching programs, and family fitness initiatives. By emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, Controlled Chaos helps shape healthier lifestyles and builds stronger bonds among families, friends, and neighbors.

Global Influence

Beyond its immediate community, CrossFit Controlled Chaos contributes to the worldwide CrossFit movement by pushing the boundaries of what fitness programming can achieve. Through advanced training models such as Volume X and other specialized programs, the gym sets new standards for intensity, efficiency, and results. What should our readers know about your business?
What Sets Me Apart

What sets me apart is the combination of real-world leadership experience and a lifelong passion for fitness and people development. I’ve been a manager, owner, teacher, and coach—each role giving me the perspective to understand not only how to train individuals but also how to build teams, grow organizations, and inspire communities. My background goes beyond the gym floor; it’s about creating systems, structure, and culture that allow people to thrive.

What I’m Most Proud & Excited About

I am most proud of the community we’ve built at CrossFit Controlled Chaos. It’s not just a gym—it’s a family, a movement, and a safe place where people transform their lives. Seeing members go from doubting themselves to accomplishing things they never thought possible is what excites me every single day. I’m equally proud of how we’ve grown Chaos into more than fitness—it’s about discipline, resilience, and bringing people together.

The Journey to Today

Getting here wasn’t easy. Building a business required sacrifice, long hours, and tough decisions. There were times when the challenges felt overwhelming—financial struggles, competition, and the constant demand of balancing family, leadership, and business ownership. But I overcame them by leaning on persistence, faith in the process, and the support of those closest to me. Every setback became a lesson, and every lesson became fuel to keep going.

Lessons Learned Along the Way

Resilience wins – Success is rarely instant; it’s built through patience and persistence.

People over everything – Relationships are the foundation of business growth.

Adaptability is key – The ability to evolve, innovate, and stay flexible is what keeps a brand alive.

Lead from the front – Never ask others to do what you’re not willing to do yourself.

What I Want the World to Know

CrossFit Controlled Chaos isn’t just about workouts—it’s about changing lives and reshaping mindsets. My brand is built on grit, discipline, and community. I want the world to know that fitness is not just physical—it’s a pathway to strength, confidence, and transformation in every area of life. Our story is proof that with hard work, the right team, and relentless belief, you can create something far bigger than yourself.
