We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Norwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lee, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
We believe that going into the college application process with your eyes wide open is a huge benefit to families. Understanding college fit: academically, geographically, socially and financially will smooth the way for this major life transition for both you and your student.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We believe that no family needs to pay full price for college. For over 16 years Annapolis College Consulting has helped families navigate the often rough seas of the college application process and we help adjust the sails along the way to provide a smooth journey.

We have been able to pivot to meet the needs of clients across the country by utilizing our amazing client portal and the zoom platform. Our high-touch and high-tech style works with today’s Gen Z clients. We speak “high schooler” and empower our kids to take the helm during their process.

For the past several years, we have helped over 100 families find the right college for their students. We have also helped them secure over $5 million each year in merit aid awards.

We visit colleges each year to get the overall vibe. We attend conferences and online presentations to keep our swords sharp. We network and build relationships with industry partners.. And we bring this knowledge to you via our website, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Yep…we are relevant? ANd we have fun captaining our ship every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You cannot miss enjoying the Chesapeake Bay when you are in town in Baltimore or Annapolis. We use the waterfront to help lower the stress often associated with the college admissions process by taking our families paddle boarding, meeting outdoors or zooming with sailing taking place in the background. Why? We are at our most relaxed and creative when we are moving and enjoying nature.

In each of the cities where we have a presence, there is a water component. From Boston to Annapolis, Willmington, NC to Hilton Head, we enjoy our clients, our associates and the view.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am dedicating this shout-out to my entire college consulting team. We are a casual, intellectual, supportive and fiercely loyal team dedicated to helping families and students find the right college that fits their students academically, socially, geographically and financially.
