Meet Leelee 2X | Recording and Performing Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leelee 2X and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leelee, why did you pursue a creative career?
I feel like my career chose me. All my life I have been a Performing Artist either through church “Christ Church Apostolic” of Aurora, Colorado, through school “Denver School of the Arts”- vocal major or through my Hobbies kids skits Performing Arts and creating my own sound of music. My gifts always stood out most about me. A lot of people tell me that I sound like Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Monica ; and Nicki Minaj. I never thought that I even compared, but I work hard and believed that they paved a way for women like me to be able to share my gift as a vocal artist. Rapping is just fun its another way for me to express my self. I fell in love with it the day I met my “Hiphop”. Hip-hop was never something I thought could reach me, I was a R&B girl at heart ; ” Give me a good Mariah song and Id kill it !”- but Hip-hop has saved my life gave me a new look on things and even inspired my last two singles “Harder than Mulatto” and “Ultima Oracion” . while Harder than mulatto needs no explanation, Ultima Oracion depicts the life prayer and trials of what I faced in the inner city.
I have always looked up to my step sister India Arie who inspires me everyday to pursue my career as a recording and performing artist. Her light has shined on so many people and I am happy to have witness it. I hope that with my hard work and faith I will always reach the people and make a difference a change a or a day. My music is my light and I am in the source sharing it to the world is why I am a performing artist. – Leelee2x

My mission is to stay positive and to keep pushing the message of light and peace and equality for all and freedom of thought and speech. I am where I am today because of what I believe and the values that I keep. Do unto others as you want done to you I support all local, out-of-state, mainstream an underground artist I support music of all genres I love classical, jazz, rock, reggae, heavy metal, gospel, contemporary, I am a lover of anything with a good message!!
Because of my support of positive things I feel like that has in return generated a positive outcome on my following and fans. This is something that I have learned overtime, the challenges that I had to overcome we’re not easy. There were a lot of naysayers and doubters but it did not stop my ambition or drive it only gave me the feel I needed to pursue my goal as being a mainstream recording and Performing Artist. I am excited to continue to share my gift and my talent with the world. More to come onward and foward

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The most fun and interesting things that I enjoy are spending time with my family hanging out at a great resturant at one of Denver’s Resturant Week picks. I love to go out and see nature being a Colorado Native we love the outdoors the mountains the views the nature and the beautiful sceneries that come with them I love Red Rocks Garden of the Gods and not to mention our beautiful stadiums Botanical Gardens and Performing Arts centers that have the best concerts. It’s really hard to choose the most fun or interesting in Colorado because there is so much to do see explore and learn. I am so glad to be a Colorado Native and resident.

Shout out to anyone in twos crews my stylist booking agents and all the members of 2 X Entertainment they have always been a great support to Leelee 2X.

Shout out to my mother and my stepfather mr. And mrs. Ralph Simpson National Basketball Association Hall of Fame inductee Denver Nuggets alumni pistons and 76ers alumni and the Boston Celtics.
