We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexi Richey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexi, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Ah. The age old question of how will you be remembered and what legacy you will leave behind. I’ve asked myself this question many times, and I think what I have narrowed it down to is this. I would like to be remembered as the person who helped spark, catalyze and cultivate a persons creative nature. Someone who helped give themselves permission to create. Someone that helped peak their curiosity of exploring creative endeavors. To not stifle their creative urges, but to embrace them. I want to be known as the person who encouraged humans to breathe life into their dreams and create something. Anything. Just Create!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work has just begun. I am in the very beginning stages of creating Get Crafty Brews and I am truly proud for even beginning! I am excited for what I have planned for it and the impact of spreading creativity all around whether it’s in the Crafty Bus Mobile (still working on that) or on the internet. It is hard right now. Balancing being a new Mom, working part-time in the family business and starting this business is a lot of work. But what I have learned so far is that when you are passionate about building it, and know the potential it has, the work is worth it. And as for what I would like the world to know about my brand and story? That creativity has a way of sneaking through the cracks of our constructs we’ve built…it’s crafty like that. And it’s worth taking a look at.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would actually stay local and bounce around the Arvada, Westminster & Broomfield area and frolic about there! We would hit up Sweet Bloom Coffee in the new Westminster Downtown area to start off our mornings, then make our way to the new Tattered Cover Book Store and discuss our book finds over a cocktail at their book bar. Perhaps hit up a movie at the Alamo Draft House. Then, I’d be sure we went to Wonderland Brewery, play some putt-putt and drink some beer. Maybe catch the Dumpling Deli food truck at another local brewery like Resolute. We would for sure go on a hike around Table Top Mountain and then maybe end up in Arvada at one of the many festivals that is usually happening down there. Grab ourselves some appetizers and drinks at So Radish and laugh about the 80’s

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many that I could Shoutout for this. So many that have been so influential and encouraging. I will say that the most influential person in my most recent creative endeavors is Twyla Tharp and her book “The Creative Habit: Learn it and Use it For Life”. It truly has helped me weave creativity into my life and not only see, but value the importance of it. Building habits around utilizing creativity and how much of an impact it can have not only in my own world, but the community and world at large has been truly pivotal.
