We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexi Zadak Schmidt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lexi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I truly believe in the philosophy behind my company. I’m passionate about what I do and I personally live the lifestyle that I want for my clients. I believe that the power of food, along with lifestyle change, can significantly improve someone’s quality of life. Whether you’re struggling with sleep and energy levels, depression and anxiety, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, health conditions, weight management or athletic performance concerns, food is your game changer. I also feel that another component of my success is the element of education. I want to make sure my clients feel in control of their own health. Therefore educating them on WHY we’re doing what we’re doing makes a big difference in compliance and consistency. If you have consistency, you will see results, therefore YOU will believe in the process and philosophy, too!
What should our readers know about your business?
I started out at a different health & wellness company back in 2016 and that’s where I got my foot in the door with nutrition and wellness coaching. I was able to get some experience working one on one with clients while taking courses and going through various certifications. In 2018, I realized I wanted to expand my practice and promote the concept that food is so much more than a weight regulator. So many nutrition coaches out there focus solely on macro prescriptions and body recomposition without digging further into things like biofeedback signs, habit building and mental and emotional relationships with food. I wanted to focus on overall wellness from every angle so in 2019 I branched out on my own and started my own LLC. Since then, I’ve been able to work with such a huge variety of clients and use my programs to help people beyond weight loss! I now have the knowledge and experience to work with clients who experience gut health issues, hormone imbalances, and other health related conditions. I work with high level athletes looking to improve their performance as well as people who may be struggling with certain orthorexic behaviors. The most exciting thing for me is to be able to offer my services to such a wide variety of people and truly improve their quality of life!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m a HUGE foodie so most of my itinerary would be based off eating and drinking at all of the best places around Denver, exposing them to the killer food scene we have here with as much variety as possible! We’d hit up Bacon Social House, Root Down and WholeSol for brunch, (and likely Root Down again for dinner if I’m being honest!) For the best Mexican style cuisine, I’d take them to EL Jefe in the Highlands. I’d also want them to try the best Thai food in Denver and that would be at Daughter Thai Kitchen and Bar. For the best wild game burgers, I’d take them to Barbed Wire Reef off 38th. And a food tour wouldn’t be complete without sushi so we’d head to Sushi Ronin, Sushi Sasa or Mizu Sushi, all located in the LoHi area. For a fancier meal, I’d take them to Fish n’ Beer in RiNo, right after having some delicious craft cocktails at The Tatarian off Tennyson Street. I’d stay in the RiNo area after dinner and bar hop around to a few of the local breweries. We’d end our night at The High Lonesome towny bar, also located in LoHi. And we can’t forget dessert! I’m obsessed with doughnuts, therefore I’d take them to The Doughnut Club off Blake in RiNo!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to recognize Jason Phillips, founder of the Nutritional Coaching Institute, and his amazing team of coaches! All of my certifications and credentials are through them. NCI has a wonderful staff of incredibly knowledgeable and personal coaches and the work I’ve done with them has definitely helped put me on the path to success!
