We had the good fortune of connecting with Lillian Iacino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lillian, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I am a Libra so balance is our main trait and how we juggle relationships in our lives. For me, I knew I wanted to be in aesthetics, specifically owning my own boutique studio so I could have a work life balance. When I am with my clients it is so special and I get to do what I love but I know when I have children I will be able to adjust my schedule to be at the important things in their lives. My biggest dream and desire in life is to be a mother and I knew this industry would be perfect for a flexible schedule. As for now being single, it has been great to start my mornings off with my 5 Minute Journal to be conscious of gratitude and appreciation in my life and then attend my favorite workout class. After I am at my studio seeing clients all day I like to make a healthy dinner and watch some mindless television with my dog Murph. I think throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic it has made me more aware of how fulfilling a simple life truly is. It has made me beyond thankful for quality time with my clients and loved ones. I believe if you do not have a proper work life balance one of those areas will start to fail in your life whether that is your business or relationships you value. It’s important to work hard but to also know when it is time to recharge.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?Bellissima is a boutique beauty bar that specializes in eyebrows, lashes and event ready treatments. We are located just south of Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado.

Bellissima is essentially at the moment my child. If I am not working on clients, I am working on another creative project for the business and I would not want my life to be anything else right now! It was not easy to get to where I am today but it has always been something I have loved to do which has made the hard times easier. I truly feel like although the year of 2020 has been challenging for everyone, it has been the year I have cherished the most as a business. I had people coming from all over to support Bellissima and be extremely excited at every appointment. In a world of chaos it has been very refreshing making people feel better about themselves and more confident. I have learned when you put your head down, stay in your own lane and create beautiful results (in my case aesthetics) everything else starts to fall into place. I am very passionate on being kind, understanding and uplifting in this industry that at times can be difficult if you get distracted from the over saturated market. My motto is “do your thing the way YOU do it”. It is very important to me that aside from a results driven business aesthetically that we are driven by customer relationships. Hands down the best part of my job is seeing my clients evolve. Whether that is getting a promotion, finding the love of their life, having their first child or building their first home you get to witness major milestones and support them along the way. At Bellissima, my goal is for you to walk into a clean, chic boutique studio and have 30 minutes to an hour where you get to forget about the rest of the world and your responsibilities. We are focused on making you feel better and being the highlight of your day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Denver and I love how much it is developing and growing. I know some naives are not excited about everyone moving here but personally I don’t think we have ever had this amazing of attractions here and more to come! For dinner and drinks I would go to 5430 Rooftop, Quality Italian, Room For Milly, North Italia, Safta, Sushi Den, Linger, Mister Oso, or Tavernetta. Some fun bars would be Avanti, Happy Camper, Recess, Death and Co, Welton Room, Cooper Lounge, and Narrativ. Some places would be Red Rocks, Rocky Mountain National Park, St Mary’s Glacier, Mount Evans or day trip to Vail. You can get coffee from Steam or Aviano and take a stroll around Wash Park or Sloans Lake. If you are wanting to stay in the city, LoHi and Rino have great breweries, shopping and restaurants. So many amazing small businesses that you will not be able to find anywhere else!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love the saying you’re only as good as your tribe. For me, this has remained true through every journey of my life. My parents keep me grounded, my friends continue to lift and support me and my mentor Melissa Pruett (owner of Melt By Melissa in Scottsdale) pushes me to be the best entrepreneur I can be. I am grateful that I have learned so many lessons from other female entrepreneurs in my industry and other industries as well. I think some people do not realize there is no playbook on how to run a business. Sure you have your business plan, accountant, financial advisor etc but no one truly understands the rollercoaster you are on until you are along for the ride. It is so important no matter what your dream or purpose in life is to have support around you. My support system has been the best cheerleaders, listening ears and at times shoulders to cry on. I could never credit my success to just myself because there are so many individuals in my life that have made my dream possible and for that I will forever be grateful.
