We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Moreland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I grew up in a traditional American home full of sugary drinks, processed food, chemicals galore. I entered into adulthood, had children, and my whole perspective changed. Through sickness and allergies I became very aware that we needed a change, something better than a superficial bandaid. So began the process of trial, error, and learning. Over the last 10 years I have studied natural preventative options, homeschooled my children, started organic gardening, cooking from scratch, food preservation, and all the things in between. Supporting my families health and wellness has since been a top priority, and now I am called to share all I have learned in hopes to better other people and families.

Teaching others about prevatative health, how to provide healthy options mentally and physically for their family is such a gift. From gardening to cooking and raising independent healthy kids is how we can truly impact our community and enviroment. It all starts with small steps in our home to create a ripple affect across the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have invested so much time into learning as much as possible. I have had a lot of trial and error, I remember our garden so full of weeds taller than me and feeling so discouraged year after year. Every year I learned though and have been able to implement everything I learned to now growing multiple varieties, putting back tons of food for our family, being able to share all i ahev learned with beginning gardeners to help them achieve their goals. Struggling through piles of curriculum unsure of how I would be able to teach these tiny humans myself to feeling very confident and able to council other homeschool mommas. It doesn’t matter if you were raised this way, if you can’t even make mac n cheese, you can learn. You can become an amazing homemaker, gardener, and be self sufficient.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definatly stop into the abundance of farmers markets and vegetables stands to cook and amazing meal. Hiking on the Grand Mesa and the Plateau is always enjoyable and breath taking.
I would definitely live to visit all the beautiful vineyards and outstanding local brewerys and pubs.
