We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Ferron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been awkward! I am completely right-brained, funny & entertaining. I realized, after many career choices that this would be the ideal business for me
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of my writing. Life has thrown a lot my way & without my comedic writing skills, I would have folded a long time ago. Instead, I turn tragedy into comedy. I inspire, strike nerves, open minds & most importantly, make people relate and laugh. I have PTSD. The best healing I have experienced is being on stage or behind the radio mic. Spreading knowledge & joy is fulfilling & cathartic.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I live in the Vail Valley, there are so many things to do! I would first take my loved ones on the river. The river is the most healing place on earth. I would take them on a giant blowup raft in just follow the current until we get to the bottom and then we pitch tents and have a great night camping. Then we would go back to town and experience all the things that the Vail Valley has to offer. Amazing restaurants (Juniper, E Town, Village Bagel, Passos Pizza, Nozowa Sushi to mention a few) hiking in Cordillera, Lions Head, Turquoise Lake, fishing, horseback riding in Beaver Creek, running with dogs, live music, the mountains and so many summer activities at the Vilar Center and the Gerald Ford Ampitheater.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my story and success to everyone who set out to prevent me from achieving same. If not for them, I would not have been so motorivated!
